"Do we need to have this dinner mom?" I'm laying down on the couch, hugging a pillow to my chest. "It's a work dinner for your dad, you know it's important for him." I sigh loudly, "I just don't understand why I can't invite Michael. It would make the entire evening so much more fun." She sits down next to me, patting my legs.
"It's just his ministry colleagues and some of their family Emmy, you'll be fine. I believe there will be some classmates of you attending as well, Blaise Zabini and Draco Malfoy." I sit up directly, "Draco will be there?" "Of course, dear his father and your father are very close friends." I bury my head in my hands, "Merlin's beard, this is going to be fun."
I'm looking at my closet, deciding what to wear. I don't want to look to formal but not too fun either, "Fosny!" I yell out, our house elf apperates next to me. "Yes miss?" I grab my jacket, "I need to go dress shopping, can you apperates me to a dress store?" "Of course, miss. Let's go!" She excitedly takes my hand and apperates me to a store.
It's currently 5PM, I'm standing in front of the mirror checking myself out. I put my hair up in a bun and secure it with my wand. I bought a tight iridescent velvet dress and it hugs my curves in all the right places. Eventually I decide to not but any accessories on, to highlight the dress and myself. I can't wait to see Draco's face when I walk into the room wearing this, he'll freak out.
I walk into the drawing room, swaying my hips to the sound of my heels clicking on the cobblestone floor. I see Blaise sitting down on the couch and by the fireplace I see Draco. I greet everyone with two social kisses and save Draco for last. I walk up to him and nod,
"Draco." He stares me up and down, "Emilia. Has your holiday been good so far?" I nod, "Yes, I am looking forward to the ball. I cannot wait to see Michael again." I see his gaze darkening, "You two are still a thing?" I smirk, "Yes, he's my date to the Christmas ball."
"Dinners ready!"
I can see Draco staring at me intently, I can't help but chuckle. This boring dinner is going to kill him. Luckily, I get to sit next to Blaise. This makes the 5-course dinner easier and time flies by. Before I know it, we 'teens' are already dismissed to the Drawing room. Leaving the adults to discuss their work business. "Come on guys, let's take a walk outside."
I hand the both of them a cigarette as we walk through the beautiful gardens. "So Draco, I heard Blaise had a lovely sleep on the couch the night of the dance." Blaise starts laughing, Draco shoots him a look to shut up. "I don't understand why you're so concerned with my personal life Emilia." I laugh,
"Oh, I'm not concerned. I'm just enjoying all of it. However, you seem to have a real interest in me and Michael." He stops in his tracks, giving me a death glare. "You know damn well why Drew. You told me you weren't ready for anything serious and the next guy you meet you randomly decide to date. I don't like it one bit."
"I think I'll head back inside." Blaise suddenly says, we both kind of forgot he was there. He quickly walks away, "We're not officially dating. Yet." His eyes narrow at me, "Why the hell are you with him Emilia, even trying to date shouldn't be with him. You should be with me." He takes another step, closing the space between us. "Aren't you dating Serena?" I whisper softly, distracted by him being so close to me. "Fuck Serena, I want you. Only you."
His hand brushes a strand of hair out of my face, only this little action reminds me too much of Michael. The way he said goodbye to me on the train station and how I asked him to be my date to the ball. Draco's face closes in on mine and I panic, I don't know what to do.
On the one hand Michael and I are not serious, I have the freedom to fool around with other guys but on the other hand I find myself not wanting to do so. Even if I did it, this is Draco. The same guy who punched Michael square in the face.
But it's Draco... The passionate, hot Draco who rocked my world. I'm too lost in thought to notice that Draco closed the gap between us and pressed his lips to mine. It takes me a second to realize what is happening, he presses his body to mine. Savouring every last second of it.
There's something going through my body, it's not the butterflies I get when I'm with Michael. It's electricity coursing through my veins, shocking my entire body.
I break apart from him, taking a step back. "I can't-" He scoffs, "Why the fuck not? Deep down you know you want this. Look at what you're wearing, to your dad's fucking work dinner. You want this Em. Tell me you want this and I'm all yours."
I struggle finding my words, "I didn't wear this for you..." I whisper softly, knowing fully well I actually did do it for him, but the way he's raising his voice at me is not making me any happier. "Bullshit." He says, he's almost shouting at me.
"Fuck you Draco, you almost had me. Almost. But you fuck it up every time by letting your fucking anger get the better of you."
I storm back inside, not looking back at him. I head up to my room and put on my cloak, I write a short letter to my parents. Explaining where I went. "Fosny." I yell out, "Yes miss?"
"Please take me to the Corner residence, give this to my mother when you get back here." I hand her the letter, "Will do miss!"
