chapter 19

Third person POV

Sans and Chara slowly sneak their way in, using Lana's map as a guide through the mansion. They hide from the patrolling skeletons, and once at a spot, Chara nods, heading off to distract Nightmare, leaving Sans to find Lana. Both put on masks and throw sleeping gas all around the castle to have less problems. Sans has a part of the map that leads to where she is and Chara has the part with the throne room. Chara gets to the throne room and Sans gets closer to Lana's room. Lana hasn't left her bed and looks dead inside from what has happened to her. It'll be hard for Sans to move her. Sans has a hard time disabling the shield but after he does, he kicks the door down to see Lana curled up in the bed not moving a muscle. He slowly makes his way over to the bed.
"Lana? My lady is that you?" Lana flinches and slowly turns to look at Sans. The look he got broke his soul.
"Sans?... Is that really you? Or is that bastard playing one of his mind games again?" Lana thinks for a minute before rolling over deciding the latter is most likely true. Sans sits on the bed and gets a little closer to her. Now that he's gotten closer he can see the bite marks, cuts, and bruises that show from that little the blanket didn't cover. Sans puts his hand on Lana's shoulder causing her to jump from the sudden interaction and turns her towards him.
"That bastard hurt you didn't he? Didn't he?!" Sans is visibly angry and Lana flinches again and moves away from him. Sans calms himself down before pulling off the covers and wrapping Lana in his cape.
"I don't know what he did, or how bad he hurt you, but I do know that I'm taking you home. " He picks Lana up after making sure the cape is secure and won't fall off of her and teleports outside the castle. He sits her down and sets off a signal flare and waits for Chara to come. Chara comes up the hill a few minutes later with some cuts and bruises but is otherwise ok. When Lana sees Chara she jumps into his arms crying "dad!" Chara picks Lana up bridal style and they all head home.
Back at the castle Chara takes Lana to the medical bay and leaves her with the medics and sans. He leaves to tell everyone the news.

Lana's POV

Sans was forced to wait outside the room and only female doctors and healers came in to see me. When the healers and doctors leave Sans sneaks in to check on me.
" Princess Lana, are you alright?" His face shows worry.
"I don't know. They patched up the wounds, but the doctors did a strange test, I'm waiting for the results"
Sans has an unreadable expression but before he can say anything, my family bursts through the door.
"LANA!"
I'm tackled to the bed by Ella and Ethan with gramps, grams, uncle azzy and dad not far behind them.
"Thank god you're alright! We've been so worried!!"
Grams wipes her eyes before hugging me close. I don't say much, I just hug back, scared my voice would fail me.
The happy reunion is cut short by the doctor coming in with an unsure look on her face and the results to test they did earlier.
"Excuse me your majesties, but I have results to a test prince Chara asked to be done."
I look at sans and he quietly grabs my hand, giving it a soft squeeze for comfort.
"I'm not sure is this is good or bad but, congratulations princess, your pregnant"
I can tell the shock is visible because everyone gives me a confused look.
Crack
"I knew that bastard did something! No wonder you refused to look me in the eye!"
Sans had punched his hand through a wall anger and the intent to kill written all over his face. Grams holds me closer as everyone gives me pity filled looks.
"I just want to be alone right now"
I gently push grandma away and hide under the covers as everyone leaves.

I'm pregnant? That fucker! What should I do? It's not the child's fault, it's that pathetic excuse for a monster's fault. I'll make sure the child will never meet Nightmare.

I'm drawn out of my thoughts by a hand on my shoulder. I pull off the covers to see Sans. He sits on the bed and pulls me into a hug.
"No matter what you choose to do I'll follow you. I'm sorry I couldn't save you sooner."
He's shaking, instead of saying anything I just hug him back. We stay like that for a few minutes, until Sans let's me go.
"I'll be outside if you need me."
He kisses my forehead and leaves me with my thoughts.
