Lana's pov

I wake up to the early morning light and the need to puke my guts up. I rush to the bathroom and start throwing up, seconds later Sans comes in and holds my hair up so it doesn't get in the way. After the morning sickness passes I go through my morning routine and Sans helps me where he can. I sit at my desk to get some of the overdue work done.

"Princess Lana, you shouldn't do to much your still recovering"

Sans scolds since I'm not supposed to stress or push myself.

"I can't delay these reports any longer, it doesn't matter if I'm still recovering and pregnant, they’re getting done"

I hear him sigh from behind me, worry and stress in his tone, but I'm not stopping. I've missed enough work, now most reports are overdue and so is my homework for both of my classes. I get through a little over half the stack of papers on my desk by lunchtime. I can sense Sans watching from behind and keeping a watchful eye, even if he pretends to be asleep. I start on another stack when Sans hugs me from behind and buries his skull in my shoulder. He's been acting strange like this since I got back, what's wrong with him?

"Is something wrong Sans?" His grip gets tighter.

"Take a break princess, you need to have breaks in between big loads like this. Completing them all in one go isn't healthy, nor is it good for your baby"

Sans lets me go, walks around the seat picks me up, walks over to the bed and lays down with me on top of him. His arms holding me against him, keeping me down.

"Take a short break, I know you've haven't gotten much as of late. Don't worry I won't leave you." Sans mummers this in my ear and I can't help but doze off, feeling safe in his arms. I know I'm safe as long as I'm with him.

Chara's pov

I let out a frustrated sigh. Why must my brother and father be like this? We've been cooped up in this study going over strategies and battle plans to try and beat the man after my daughter. I haven't seen her since the news was broken about her being with child. No one has addressed the subject, none dare to. My poor baby girl, she doesn't deserve what happened. Now her guard Sans is a good man, hasn't left her side and makes sure she's well. I listen to my brother and father talk, argue, and even yell. Lana should be in her room right now. I'll go check on her, not like we're getting anywhere here. I stand bringing attention to me.

"I'm going to check on Lana. I haven't seen her since the news was broken, I want to make sure she's alright. Excuse me"

I leave before they can say or do anything to stop me. I make my way to her room, passing the many guards we now have damn near everywhere. I run into my niece and nephew, Ella and Ethan carrying a tray of something.

"Ella, Ethan what have you got there?"

They freeze before turning around, they relax when they see it's just me.

"We're bringing snacks to Lana, she hasn't been feeling well and so we thought these snacks would be easier to keep down than anything heavy" Ethan takes the tray from his sister to give her arms a break.

"Yeah, everyone has been saying not to disturb her because she's still recovering, but she's been through so much we just wanted to help in any way we can" Elsa nods along with Ethan's words.

Such sweet kids, they want to help their cousin. I rub their heads and smile.

"I'm sure she would love that, actually I'm on my way to see her now. Why don't we all go see her together?"  They smiled at my suggestion and happily nodded leading the way to Lana's room.  It doesn't take us long to reach her door, I knock and Sans opens the door. I can hear Lana asking who it is from behind him.

"Lana sweetheart, me and your cousins came to check on you, may we come in?" I'm not sure as to what she did, since she didn't say anything, but whatever she did Sans moved and let us in. Lana looks very pale and doesn't seem to be doing well at all. She's sitting up on her bed with a tray of uneaten food on it. Ella and Ethan both walk over and set the tray they had on her lap.

"We did some reading and snuck into the kitchen to make this for you, these snacks should be easier to keep down than anything heavy!" Ella bounces as she talks and Lana smiles at them.

"Oh really? I'm excited to see what you two have made for me, it smells heavenly." Ethan grabs the top of the tray and pulls the top off.

On the tray are an assortment of snacks. Some are plain crackers with some veggies, while others are more complex. Lana smiles, picks up a small bread-like substance with a little bit of cream on it and takes a bite, humming in approval when she finishes it.

She rubs their heads, " Aww thanks guys that was delicious, and I bet the rest are too. The best part is I don't even feel sick, your snacks really helped thanks guys."

Sans is just watching standing nearby in case anything happens. I walk closer and place my hand on my daughters head. She looks up and smiles at me.

"Good afternoon, father. I'm grateful you came to see me, but aren't you busy?"

"No my dear, we haven't made any progress so I came here to check on you and to get away from your uncle's and grandfather's awful bickering" Lana giggles at that, turns to her cousins, thanks them for the snacks, and they leave. Leaving us alone.

"May I sit?" I gesture to an empty spot on her bed.

"Yes, of course father, please do" Lana moves over a bit to make some more room for me. I sat next to her and pulled her in for a hug, nothing was said but at the same time everything was. Lana pulls away first and holds her stomach and groans. Sans rushes over to help.

"Sweetie, are you alright? Does your stomach hurt? Is it the baby??" I get more worried the longer she doesn't answer. If we had just arrived sooner this wouldn't have happened. That bastard wouldn't have had the chance to do this to her! My thoughts are interrupted by Lana.

"Dad I'm fine, the baby just likes to kick hard sometimes," She's breathing heavily. I'm not sure if she's ok.

"Sans go get a doctor, we need to make sure nothing bad is happening to either of them" Sand nods and rushes out of the room before Lana can protest. After a few minutes Sans returns with the doctor. The doctor runs scans and makes sure that everything is alright. The doctor verifies what Lana said earlier, everything is fine the baby just has really strong kicks. I sigh in relief, thank the doctor and allow him to leave. I stay for a few more hours just spending time with my daughter. When I leave Lana has fallen asleep on sans. Sans was blushing blue when she did. I gave him a stern look.

"I'll in trust my daughter to you Sans, but if you hurt her you will not be around to see tomorrow"

Sans looks me straight in the eyes, "I'll never hurt your daughter, your Highness. And I'll never leave her alone, never."

I leave and smile as I walk back to the study room. Sans is the perfect person for my daughter
