FIRST DAY OF SPRING was a synonym of new beginnings. The blossom of flowers that hung from the trees around campus also came with the blossoming of fresh relationships and young love. All around the pavilions, light expressions and occasional smiles could be seen decorating the halls of Chapel Hill.

And from that chilly insomnia evening early in march, a new friendship had set on campus. After an unlikely invitation, two very similar teens had developed a blossoming connection, just like the blossoming spring flora. For the first time in a long time, Pope grew to learn the meaning of having a phone and actually using it — like most teens did.

Time grew a different speed ever since and the past weeks had been quite eventful for the two teens. Chelsea found Pope to be nothing alike the guys she had met in the past. He seemed very genuine and truthful, which made her more eager to talk to him every chance she got.

The texting was constant when the two weren't together. From morning texts to lunch arrangements in between classes and sometimes late-night texting that kept both awake for an extra amount of time. It subconsciously turned into a routine for both.

"And then he bluntly told Jake football wouldn't get him nowhere if he wasn't capable to use his brain. Can you actually believe this? I mean, it's sort of true. These athletes have nothing in their heads, but-" Olivia noticed her best friend's smile was directed at something other than her story "Chels?"

"Totally, Nate is a bobblehead." Chelsea smiled looking up from her phone.

"Nate? Who's Nate, I was talking about Jake."

The amber-haired girl looked at her friend dumbfounded before giggling. "Jake."

"Can we just accept the fact that you weren't listening to my story?"

"Liv..."

"Teens nowadays and their technologies." Both teens stared at each other, before erupting into light chuckles. "I'll forgive you, though. That Pope boy is starting to grow on me."
