Shane walked up to Lori who was slicing carrots for tonight's supper. Isabella stopped in her tracks and slid behind a tree hoping that Shane didn't see her. She leaned her back against the tree as Shane started in on Lori. "We messed around quite a bit before Rick came back, it's mine Lori. You know it is."
"Even if it's yours, it's not gonna be yours," Lori argued. Neither of them said baby but it's fairly obvious what they are talking about. Shane got Lori pregnant now he's definitely not going to leave her alone. Isabella leaned her head back against the tree staring up into its massive boughs. Streaks of warm sunshine hitting her face as a tear rolled down her cheek. "You okay?" Isabella jerked her head forward at the sound of his raspy voice. She quickly swiped that lone tear from her cheek and when she raised her eyelids she found herself staring into those crystal clear blue eyes of Rick Grimes. He reached out and put a comforting hand on her shoulder, "I'm gonna talk to Hershel. Try to convince him to let us stay here despite Shane's meltdown. It'll be okay, I promise." Something about the way he said it, the look in his eyes made her instantly feel better. Like he would make it all alright.

I walked off the front porch frustrated by the events of the day, by Shane's hot headed actions. I stood in the middle of the yard staring at the now empty barn. I pinched the bridge of my nose, how am I going to fix this with Hershel? I looked up and noticed Isabella leaning up against the massive oak tree a little further down the yard. I should go talk to Lori. She's always wanting me to talk more but I just don't want to be around her lately. The thought of her being with Shane, even though she only was because she thought I was dead, tugs at my heart. Now she's pregnant and who knows which of us is actually the father. I walked toward Isabella and the shade of that mighty oak. I watched her as I strolled over closer. She was so beautiful, her smooth olive colored skin, dark brown hair, and her sapphire blue eyes. My heart started thumping hard inside my chest as I neared her, thinking about those features. Lori hasn't turned me on like this in a long time. She leaned her head back against the tree. Her chest moving up and down in slow, concentrated breaths. I finally stood directly in front of her soaking in her beautiful form when I noticed she had a streak down her cheek where a tear had slid down. "Are you okay?" I asked as she jerked her head back up and swiped at the last tear on her face. She lifted her gaze meeting her blue eyes with mine and I felt so weak in the knees that I thought I was going to fall to the ground in that instant. She really was stunning. The look on her face when I told her I was going to talk to Hershel and convince him to let us stay made me fill up with a sense of purpose. I had to make this work now, for her. I slid my hand from her shoulder to the middle of her back and pulled her into my chest. I rested my chin on top of her head inhaling her scent. "What's goin' on here?" Merle said from behind me. "I, uh, Isabella was a little upset." I managed to finally get the words out of my mouth. Merle smiled at me as he looked around me to Isabella, "Questo é meglio, piccola. Preferisco vederti con Agente Amichevole." {This one's better baby girl. Much rather see you with Officer Friendly.}
"È sposato, papà ed é soltanto gentile." {He's married Papá and he is just being nice.}
Merle just walked away chuckling and shaking his head. "What did he say, what did you say?" She smiled her bright smile and kissed me on the cheek. "He's just bein' Papá. Do you really think you'll be able to talk Hershel into letting us stay?" I really didn't want to disappoint her, "I'm going to do everything in my power to keep us here and safe." I couldn't stop myself from what I was about to do, I wanted to feel her lips on mine. I leaned down and kissed her, this time she didn't pull away from me. Instead she kissed me back. I tangled my fingers in her long, brown hair as I ran my tongue across her bottom lip begging for entrance. She opened her mouth and I slipped my tongue in passed her lips. I could barely hear the faint footsteps that were approaching from the opposite side of the tree as I pressed my body against hers pinning her against the tree. "Rick!" I jumped back breaking the sweet kiss I was sharing with Isabella. I looked around the tree and Shane was walking toward us. "I better go," she whispered as she walked off. I turned to watch her leave as Shane strolled up. "Oh baby, I hate to see ya go but I love to watch ya leave!" He yelled out to Isabella as he looked at me and grinned. Isabella turned and flipped him the bird. "She loves me," he laughed before turning to face me, "Look man I'm sorry, I know I lost my cool but I needed to keep the group safe. Have you talked to Hershel yet?" I shook my head still looking out at Isabella. "He'll understand, he has too."

Isabella couldn't keep the smile off her face or that kiss off her mind. She still had these feelings for Shane but new ones were creeping in for Rick. Papáeven likes him better which is a plus. On my way across the field where Papáand Uncle Daryl were set up when Lori grabbed my arm, "I need to talk to you."
I snatched my arm out of Lori's grasp. "Giù le mani, puttana. I got nothin' to say to you." {Hands off me bitch} I kept walking even though Lori was following and pleading with me to stop and talk. Eventually Lori just gave up and went back to the tent that she shared with Rick. No sooner than I sat down next to Papá Shane called out to me. "Hey Izzy." I slung my head around and glared at him as Papá rolled his eyes. "What did I tell ya about callin' me that?"
"Sorry, Isabella, can I talk to you. Alone."
"I ain't got nothin' to say to you either." I sneered at him as I dropped my head and stared at my feet. Papá stood up followed by Uncle Daryl. "Bella Rose, we're going out to rustle up some grub. You take care of yourself while I'm gone."
"I wanna come with ya," She said her blue eyes shimmering with excitement at the prospect of getting away from these people. Papá just shook his head, "Not this time sweet girl." I plopped back down on the stump I had been sitting on previously and Shane seized the opportunity grabbing a seat next to me. He kept staring and smiling. "What?" I asked annoyed.
"Why are you so pissed at me? Is it just the barn thing or what?"
"It's mostly the Andrea and Lori thing but the barn thing has something to do with it, yeah." I turned and looked up at him. His brown eyes looking deeply into mine, almost as if her were staring into my soul. I could feel my heart pick up speed and my hands started to shake. I shoved them under my thighs to hide the shakiness I felt from his gaze. Then he looked at me like he was confused, "What Andrea thing? I know you know about Lori, but what do you think is going on with Andrea?"
"Did you or did you not have sex with her while you were supposed to be out looking for that little girl?" Shane didn't answer that question. He sat there rubbing the back of his neck and staring at the ground now. "You can't even look me in the eye? That means the answer's yes. How can you pretend to be so into me and then screw her?" He sat there still with his head down and I stood up. I paused for a second before turning to walk away. Before I could take the second step I felt his hand on my wrist and he pulled me onto his lap, "I wasn't pretending to be into you. Things happened with Andrea and I was weak, I should have stopped it but I didn't and I feel bad about it. No matter how bad I feel I can't change it." He crashed his lips into mine in a deeply passionate kiss. I started to resist at first but soon gave in to the moment and let him pry my lips apart with his tongue and snake it into my mouth. He let out a small moan as he pulled me into him more. His lips moved down to my neck as he spoke against my skin, "I want you so bad, Izzy." I pushed myself back and jumped off his lap. "I told you not to call me that!" He still had my hand in his as he smiled up at me and pulled me back down into his arms. He kissed me on the top of my head as he ran his hand up and down my arm, "I'm sorry baby. I just mean it as a cute little nickname for you."
"Well I don't like it," I pouted as I looked up into his eyes. He smiled back at me with that sneaky smirk before responding. "Yeah," he started, "Yeah ya do." Then he placed another kiss on my lips, this one softer and lingering. I lay back into his chest and let him wrap his arms around me in a warm embrace. I was enjoying this little moment with Shane while my mind flopped back and forth between the kiss with Rick and this kiss with him. I kept thinking about what it would be like to be in Rick's arms like this all the while letting myself get completely wrapped up in the fact that Shane was here now with me and not trying to worm his way back to Lori.
