paper boxes
We used to make
paper boxes as kidsWe fold it up,
crease it up,
color it up.I put my plastic jewellery in it;
you put coins and bottle caps.We even bet which box will stay long—
mine which was on the drawers
or yours on the top shelf with books you never read.I would always cry because yours turn perfect, while mine was always torn from opening the drawers.
I never knew one day,
it will be me inside one of your boxes,
collecting dust on your top shelf
with books you never readI was stupid to ask why your boxes are never destroyed.
I should have asked what happened to the contents it hold.
After all, it was just a box prisoning
all your jewels you've forgotten you still have.___
It's funny how everyone in my FB is celebrating their 22nd birthday today, September 22. They must be feeling lucky today! 💛with love, h.
