---Prologue---
She lay there staring at the motel room ceiling with a blank expression plastered onto her face. Her mind was doubtful of him; it clouded up with all the dreadful possibilities. Shrugging off such thoughts she sat upright. And instead she stared at the door, longingly waiting for him to return to her. It had been four hours since he had left her. Yet to her, each minute that passed seemed to painfully drag on. She hugged her chest sighing deeply at the thought of him. She knew that without a doubt in her mind. She just knew what this was to him, a desperate adventure of pure recklessness.
The urgent knock at the door, startled her from her delirious daydream. The knocking persistently continued, as she rushed her way to the door, climbing over the second bed. She opened it hastily. In that moment a thought from deep down emerged, questioning what must have happened because he took so long. She held her breathe as she opened the door, the dread settling in the pit of her stomach.
He burst in through the door walking straight past her, as if he didn’t acknowledge her existence. His dismissal knocked her confidence; he was walking all over her dignity. In all, she felt pathetic and useless. He carelessly threw down a carrier bag onto the bed and picked up the remote from the wooden bed side table. He turned on the aged television, flicking through the various numbers of channels, all in agonizing silence.
She sat on the bed watching in silence as the channel numbers became a blur. She kept her thoughts silent, not wanting to say a word. She was discontent with the silence. Daring to ask the question, she looked like a floundering fish when trying to find the words. He looked her, the corner of his lip turned up in disgust before turning away. Her thoughts raged through her mind, the hot anger filled her body, though she contained it and stared blankly on. The channels stopped changing, and he pointed passively at the television.
Her eyes grew at the sight of the headline, she unwillingly she watched. They needed to know what people thought they knew. His hand covered his face as he lent against the wall. She knew that this would eventually happen, that he would regret their adventure, deep down she was saddened.
He knew he had made a mistake, without a doubt in his conscience. However, it was a beautiful impulsive mistake, one that he will look back on in old age with a smile. Wondering what people must think of him, he knew his father would use it for publicity. He cared no less for him, as long as his name was everywhere and everything.
“The son of the multi-billionaire Steven Jacobs has been missing now for two weeks, from his campsite in Normandy France. Though throughout the whole speculation of the young heir’s disappearance, there have been claims that he has run away with a young girl named as Cassidy Smith.” She groaned out loud and buried her face into her hands. The news station had put his and her picture, side by side, on the screen. She blushed a bright crimson and glared at the photo.
“The pair was last spotted leaving a hotel in Madrid, and they are thought to be currently in the surrounding area. Rumours on social networking sites, suggest that the pair had ran away, as their love would be disapproved.” The girl stared dumbfound at the television, and her mouth hung wide open. The outrageous idea made her mind race; everyone she knew must be frowning at her.
“Whilst many suggest that Daniel is making a publicity stunt on his father’s behalf. Police urge that the public should immediately report any sighting of the pair. Mr. Jacobs says that personally he has no part in his son’s disappearance and is making a national appeal for his safe return.” The screen flashed off in front of them, the girl had decided that she had enough with what other people think.
Breathing heavily with the remote in her hand she looked over at him, a devilish glint sparkled in his eyes. It was time to make her own choices. This was her mess of an adventure, and she wanted it to last.
