Hafeezoh's POV

After staying under the scorching sun, I finally got a taxi to take me back home.

I hopped in without thinking twice.

"Alhaja, your moni na 200 naira oo" The driver said in broken English.

I was already exhausted and I simply nodded. I just want to get home and freshen up.

All this stress is not my calling. If only we had a car. My eyes were red and my cloth was hot due to the heat of the sun.

It was a 30 minutes drive. Didn't take me long to get home. It was a Sunday and the road was pretty free. I walked in with a few groceries in my hands. Yes, I went to get few things needed in the house at the market.

"Khayal, I am home." I half yelled and all I got was my voice echoing back at me.

Why does it sound a bit empty in here? I called her name again, but still no response.

Where on earth could she be?? I sighed and slumped on the couch. I unlocked my phone and placed a call. It rang and she picked.

"Hell..."

"Hafy, can I call you back? Thanks, Bye." And that was it, she ended the call before I could say anything else.

What's wrong with this girl? I furrowed my brows for a moment thinking of what could be wrong and later discarded everything with a shrug.

I dragged my foot to my room after putting the items I bought in place. Even walking the littlest distance from the kitchen to my room is tiring. That's how exhausted I am.

I freshened up and went back to the kitchen to cook. It was already getting late and Khayal is not back yet. Where could she have gone?

I became apprehensive after cooking dinner. Just as I was about to call her, she walked in with a shopping bag in her hand.

"And where are you coming from all dressed up?" I squinted my eyes at her showing my displeasure for her coming back home late.

"Hafy!" She called in a warning tone and I quickly checked myself but still maintained my countenance.

"I was worried sick, Khayal. Where did you go?"

"Sheesh, Hafy, I am tired and I am not a baby to be bothered about. I can take care of myself so stop acting like a big sister."

"I am a big sis, tonight." I pouted and she chuckled. What is funny now?

"Okay, fine but before anything, why didn't you lock the door? What if I bad guy just walked in as I did? You never listen, do you?" She reprimanded and I instantly walked to the door and locked it.

I turned back to find her almost entering her room.

"Hey!"

"Let me freshen up first." She said knowing what I was about to do.

"And I hope dinner is ready."

"It is."

"Thanks, sweetie." She said and I mumbled a "welcome" before she closed the door of her room.

I slumped back on the couch and started having a conversation with my brain about how I have been feeling like a chubby bunny lately.

Maybe it's time to cut the excessive junk. I need to resume dieting and exercise before I completely let myself go.

But that will cost me some thousand and I am saving up to buy a new MacBook.

Now all this thought is making me hungry for a snack.

Ughhh, what is all this? I pouted and let out a short sigh.

Okay, I need money to maintain a good shape and I am saving up for something important and mere thinking of it is making me hungry.

"Nobody is counting calories in heaven." I said and stood up to go get an energy bar in the fridge.

"You and junk." Khayal mocked while coming out of her room.

"Free me." I entered the kitchen and she followed suit.

I grabbed two energy bars and passed one to her.

"Now to the gist." I winked.

"Ah, good gracious God." We both laughed at her statement.

"Okay, less laughing, more gisting."

"Fine. I went out with a friend. I got a call from my friend to meet up at the new restaurant close to the island and it's been so long since I saw my girl. I was so excited, got dressed and went to meet her.." She finished with a shrug but I knew there was more to the story than she was telling.

"Go on." I blurted.

"Ah, continue what?

"I want the full gist."

"The full gist of what?" She asked feigning ignorance.

"Oh Khayal. Do you still think I am a baby? I am 21 for crying out loud, meaning I have been your sister for the past 21 years so you can't lie or hide things from me, pretty." I smirked and she surrendered.

"Okayy, so I met some of my high school friends too including my crush then that just got back from abroad."

"Ohhhhhhhh, your crush huh?" I teased and she blushed.

"Stop it, dumb." She quickly covered her emotions and continued.

"Anyway it was like a mini-reunion and I had fun. We went shopping too and my friend paid the bills. So that's all." She concluded.

"Are you sure?" I teased again. She pinched my cheek and left the kitchen with my laughter following her behind.

"Moron!" She was clearly narked at my constant teases and I wasn't going to stop anytime soon.

What are sisters for? I snickered evilly. A witch at 20 is a witch forever. I laughed inwardly at my own silly thoughts.
