Zuko x Reader: Fire and Ice

Chapter 15: The Crossroads of Destiny

A/N: Okay, I have officially returned. Now, with the holidays approaching, I'll be able to have a regular upload schedule :D

Y/N's POV

So, there we sat in the Council of Five meeting. General How speaks up, "General Fong's base will serve as the launching point for the attack. In exactly two months, the army and navy will invade the Fire Nation on the Day of Black Sun."

Suddenly, Momo jumps on the map and knocks over nearly everything on the table. Katara laughs, "Or we could send in Momo to do some damage! Cause, the...sorry."

How continues, "All we need is the Earth King's seal in order to execute the plan." He sends the scroll to Katara.

Katara and I rise from our seats. "We'll get these scrolls to him right away. Thank you, General How." 

We head to the throne room and to our surprise, we see three Kiyoshi warriors.

"Oh, Suki, hi! Have you seen the Earth King? We need to get this scroll to him as soon as possible."

"Oh, don't worry, I'll be sure to let him know." Katara and I notice that "Suki" has golden eyes. They're just like Zuko's but...much more menacing. These girls aren't the Kiyoshi warriors...Could it be...? Azula?! 

Katara and I prepare to attack, but Ty Lee jumps forward and blocks both of our chis simultaneously, rendering us powerless.

Zuko's POV

Today's been an average day. There was plenty of playful banter between Y/N and I, my uncle made many horrible puns, and Jin came back to make sure her "ship was sailing..." Whatever that means. Y/N had actually left earlier than usual today because she was needed back at the palace.

Speaking of the palace, we're outside of it as we speak. Uncle and I are supposed to serve tea to the Earth King today. 

"Many times I imagined myself here, at the threshold of the palace, but I always thought I would be here as a conqueror. Instead, we are the Earth King's personal guests, here to serve him tea. Destiny is a funny thing."

"It sure is, Uncle."

We enter and marvel at the beautiful interior of the palace. We've made it to the tearoom, but the King is nowhere to be seen. We decide it's in our best interest to wait for him. 

After about twenty minutes go by, the King is still nowhere to be found.

I ask, "What's taking so long?"

"Maybe the Earth King overslept." Dai Li agents come out of nowhere and encircle us. 

I say, "Something's not right..."

I see a girl walk past the Dai Li and face us.

"It's tea time!"

"Azula!"

"Have you met the Dai Li? They're earthbenders, but they have a killer instinct that's so firebender. I just love it."

I see my Uncle picking up his cup of tea.

"Did I ever tell you how I got the nickname 'The Dragon of the West'?"

Azula looks at her nails and says, "I'm not interested in a lengthy anecdote, Uncle."

"It's more of a demonstration, really." Uncle takes a sip of his tea. I look over at him and smile before going behind him. He begins breathing fire.
