The Fight

Sitting in my office with my shoes off, I began eating my lunch that I'd bought. Kady was to come in for a brief meeting but I was somehow dreading it, I don't know why. Just as I was finishing my meal kay came in with a French vanilla coffee and placed it on my desk. 'For Ms Delavere'... laughing I said 'to what do I owe this pleasure?'. 'Thanks for last night', I got up and curtised 'anytime my love '. Laughing we both sat on the couch and did a brief run through of what happened today.

Discussing the budget was the last topic touched as Kay made her final notations. I cleared my throat and told her I had something to tell her. 'Why are you been so uptight?... come on Ser you can always talk to me'. Ok here goes, 'I gave you a week off for you to spend more time with your mom, starting Monday'.

Kay nodded her head and looked me straight in the eye, 'are you fucking kidding me? This is our biggest gig yet and you want me to sit this out?' I shaked my head ' No Kay it isn't like that.' Looking at me with disappointment in her eyes she said 'then tell me, tell me why my bestfriend wants me out of the way!!'... Her voice was getting louder by the minute. 'Tell me why in my time of need to be distracted You are sending me away?... Is it because you want all the credit?! Or is that you want me gone?'

I began laughing 'Maybe all that Gin you drank is getting to your head! We've been friends and business partners for over seven years!! Why would I suddenly end it?! You know I'm not a selfish individual. I'm trying to do what's best for you! I'm giving you time to breathe! Stop being fucking ungrateful and take it!' I shouted. Oh shit, that wasn't supposed to come out.

She looked at me wide eyed, she calmly said 'that's the thing, you're trying to do what's best for me but you aren't!.. and as for me been ungrateful that's a low blow Ser. This is the time that I need you the most, I'll be taking two weeks.
