I woke up to the sound of waves and a splitting headache, but it was nothing new. "Luke, hurry up we need to go before people get here" I groaned, there was already an old man with his dog out by the ocean looking at us carefully.

"Oh" was all Luke said before rolling over digging his face into the sand. "Crap" He mumbled shovelling more sand into his mouth. "You're a smart one" I chucked getting up and brushing off the sand making sure it fell on him. "C'mon, I'm driving" and he got up spitting out the sand and walked over to the passenger side. "Oi" I stopped him. "You are not getting in my car like that" I scolded making sure he was clean from sand before getting in and driving home.

When we got there Michael was laying on the couch sulking to himself. He sat up with hopeful eyes seeing us walk through the door. He was really taking this hard, it's not like we don’t fight, just not often.

"Come here Mikey" I sighed opening up my arms and he came running over to me wrapping me up in a tight hug. It was quite odd, seeing as I was trying to comfort him and I could barely move. "I'm not mad at you" I laughed as he let go.

"Don’t forget me, I'm not mad" Luke said pushing me out of the way and opening his arms for a hug which Michael declined.

"Where did you guys go all night anyway?" Michael asked as we all walked into the kitchen and got bowls of cereal.

"The beach" Luke answered and Michael groaned. "You guys went without me?" He whined like a child.

"I bet you didn’t even last to sunrise" he laughed pushing me off the chair.

"Hey! It was peaceful and you know I get tired when I'm drunk" I defended getting back up and pushing him but he barely moved.

"If I was there you would have stayed up" He teased and I was quick to shoot back. “That’s because you throw me into the water!"

"Hey! Stop, we are friends now and I have a headache" Luke yelled silencing us both.

"Sorry Lucifer" we with mumbled munching on our stale cornflakes.

"You missed that table" Tammy the bitchy goody goody I worked with said pointing at the table on the far corner. I groaned so wanting to speak my mind and tell her to do it but she was very close to our boss and I wanted to keep my job, so I went and wiped it down. It was against the window looking out into the quiet street. I watched as people waited at the bus stop across the road and the birds waddling on the ground eating the scraps of our pastries people chucked away in the bin outside.

"Hurry up Lexer!" Tammy ordered pulling me out of my trance. I quickly made my way back to the cash register and waited for my shift to end.

"You're annoying me you can leave" Tammy sighed going to the kitchen to prepare the food for tomorrow. I looked at the clock to see I only had 15 minutes left anyway. I untied my apron and grabbed my bag walking out without saying goodbye to the rude cow.

I started walking down the road, past the small thrift shop and stopped at the alleyway between the Asian grocer and abandoned book store feeling the same chill down my spine as I do when Calum is around. I peaked down seeing nothing but darkness and the odd patches of light shining through the two buildings. Shrugging off the feeling I continued down the road and over to the carpark where I left my car but couldn’t fight the feeling that someone was following me. I quickly got into the car and drove off back to the apartment. Michael was working tonight and Luke got picked up by his brother to go to a family dinner.

I was scared to be alone for the couple hours until Michael gets home because of Calum, he seems to only come when I'm alone and so far his visits haven't been pleasant. The house was quiet, almost too quiet, even for an empty house. I locked the door behind me and slowly made my way to my room where I put on some more comfortable clothes. So far so good.

I sat down on my bed and opened up Instagram on my phone scrolling through the pictures to keep my mind off the worst.

Suddenly a creaking sound could be heard from outside my room and I quickly sat up alert in the middle of my bed. I carefully listened for more sounds but it was quiet again. Then there was a bang sound from Luke's room next door and I jumped but not moving from my place on the bed, I wasn’t an idiot like the girls in every horror movie, I wasn’t going to be the brave heroic, highly stupid one and go investigate.

I could hear footsteps from outside in the hallway getting louder and closer to my door. I could see the shadow of four feet just outside my door before it swung open revealing two people I had never seen before.

"There she is" the shorter man said slowly walking into my room his eyes as black as Luke's mystery girls nails. The second one cautiously walked in behind eyeing me suspiciously.

"Are you sure it's her? She doesn’t look like something Cal Pal would go for" The taller one spoke making my eyes widen.

Cal Pal? Calum? Were they friends of Calum?

"It’s her you idiot! now grab her!" He yelled and the taller one stormed over to me. I quickly stumbled off the bed and away from him trying to guide them away from the door so I could make a run for it.

"So you like a game of Cat and Mouse?" The short one said a smirk growing on his face. "I like to play games too, how about I be the cat, and you be the mouse!" He laughed flicking his wrist in the direction of my door making it slam shut and lock.

"Please don’t hurt me!" I cried still trying to get away. They didn’t seem to care that I was making advances towards the door, they just stood there staring at me in amusement.

I was now in front of the door with my hand slowly making its way to the lock. The short one laughed loudly, "You can't get away girly" and with that he extended his arm out and I was slammed against the door. He moved his arm up and I was dragged up the door choking me. I kicked and struggled trying to get free but I was stuck, he had an invisible hold on me and I wasn’t getting away.

"Let's see how much we have to hurt you until Calum comes out from hiding" The taller one chuckled.

"What do you mean?" I asked struggling to find my voice.

"Well he is here watching us love, he has always been here" The shorter one spoke walking closer to me and reaching out to stroke my cheek, pushing the hair out of my face. His fingers were rough not like Calum's smooth ones but there was no pain like Calum.

"Why don’t you get him out here for us" He said and the hold on my neck got tighter. I gaged and squeezed my eyes the lack of oxygen I was getting giving me a headache.

"Do I have to say it twice!" he yelled and I felt something hard across my face and I was chucked across the room hitting my head hard before I blacked out.
