Chapter 7

***The next day***

I woke up to the sound of my phone. I looked around and spotted it laying next to Miranda.

"Ugh!" She groaned when my foot accidentally collided with her stomach as I crawled over her.

"Shush," I told her, pressing the answer button and placing the phone to my ear. "Hello?"

"Finally you answer! I have called you 12 times!" The person said.

"Well I am sorry that it is normal for someone to sleep at-" I stopped and turned to Miranda. "What time is it?"

"I don't know!" she said as she grabbed a pillow and smacked Alyssa in the face. She bolted straight up with wide eyes. She looked around until she remembered where she was.

"What?" She asked, irritated.

"What time is it?"

"Umm...Adventure Time?" Miranda and I both look at her skeptically. She looked at her phone. "12:30"

I turned my attention back to the phone. "At 12:30, Roman! You of all people should know I don't wake up until at least 2:00!"

"Sorry! I just wanted to let you know I can't hang today. Mom wants to have one on one time or whatever."

"Wait. You called me at 12:30, waking me up, to tell me you can't hang?"

"Yes."

"And you couldn't just text me?"

"Didn't cross my mind." He said, and I could just imagine him shrugging his shoulders.

"You're an idiot."

"Roman! Let's go!" A voice that didn't sound at all like his moms. It was to high-pitched.

"Hang on! I'm coming!" He yelled back. "Hey, I have to go. Bye." He said, then hanging up before I could reply.

My sister sat up and rubbed her eyes. "Was that Roman?" She asked with a big yawn.

"Yea, he is ditching us again."

"SWEET!" Miranda and Alyssa say together. I look at them, confused. "We can 1) introduce you to our friend, Truly and her family. And 2) we can go to the hang out."

"Mkay." I said, excited to meet a new friend and to go to our old hang out. "You coming, sis?"

"Nah. I'm gonna go meet with some of my friends, but I'll meet you at the hang out at around 3:30-4:00?"

"Okay. Do any of you have a car or know of anyone who would let us use their car?"

"We are a grade younger than you. Do you really think we would have our own car!?" Miranda said.

"Shut up. Can anyone lend us a car?" They shook their heads. "Ree, do any of your friends have a car?"

"Eesa might, but I'm not sure. I'll call and ask." Ree said and left the room.

"Well I'm gonna get dressed." Alyssa said.

"Bathroom!" Miranda called.

"Bedroom!"

"Uh huh. No," I said, "this is my room, so I get the right to change in here. But I am more then happy to let you change in the closet." I pointed to the walk-in closet.

"Ugh!"

"You may have known her longer, but I think I know her better." Miranda laughed, which earned the birdie finger from Alyssa as she went to the closet. The action caused Miranda to laugh harder.
