Kun

"Don't worry, we're just having a normal meal together as a family," mom said as she peered through the rearview mirror at YuXin who had a face of uneasiness.

I nodded at her and gave her an encouraging smile. If she could survive my mom, my dad should be a piece of cake to deal with. After all, mom has the last say to everything within the household.

As I glanced outside while the car was driving by, I realised we were not heading home. "Mom, this isn't the way back home."

"Yeah, we're going to our usual restaurant instead, oh uncle Wang and Yibo will be joining us too," she replied as a matter of factly. Yibo? Great.

"Don't worry, you'll be fine," I whispered to YuXin as we reached the destination. Mom led us to the private dining area and I could hear Yibo greeting her as she entered.

"Yuxi, what are you doing here too?" Yibo asked as we walked into the private dining area. "I've invited him over for dinner as well, " mom replied nonchalantly as she walked towards my dad to sit beside him.

"Yuxi, help yourself to the dishes. We ordered our usual, hope you don't mind," I flashed a smile to her as she nodded meekly.

"Thank you for the meal today, I will enjoy it," Yuxi replied politely.

Yibo picked up the vegetables and placed them in Yuxi's bowl, giving her an endearing smile as the latter nodded with appreciation. Since when Yibo is so nice towards girls?

As I looked at Kun, his facial expression turned sour and he immediately grabbed a few dishes and placed them in Yuxi's bowl. I pressed my lips together to contain the smile that was forming. A love triangle scene setting out right in front of me. Let's see how my son reacts to having some competition.

"So Yuxi, are you close with Yibo too?" I asked in a causal tone as I picked up some food for myself.

"Yes aunty, he's been very helpful during my time in school," Yuxi replied with a sincere smile.

"Son, I knew you're the choice to be the school committee chairperson, you've always been committed to your duties," Wang praised his son with a proud fatherly smile making Yibo blush with slight embarrassment. This man thinks the best of his son.

"It's good to be committed to duties, but Wang, isn't it time for Yibo to find a girl to be committed to?" Turning to Yibo, I asked, "You must have a lot of girls being smitten over you isn't it?"

"Uhh.. I don't really notice such things aunty.." he replied, glancing at Yuxi before continuing, "furthermore, I've someone I'm interested in."

"Who's the lucky girl? How come I haven't heard of it?" Wang asked in great curiosity, his gaze fixed on Yibo.

Yibo sneaked a glance at Yuxi, "She's a gentle and caring person, also putting others before herself, treating everyone with sincerity and kindness. Whenever she's faced with any difficulty, she will try her best to solve it on her own instead of relying on others, and that makes me want to protect her even more."

Hearing his unofficial Confession, Kun's face darkened as he gripped on to his fork, poking his food and chomping it down angrily. His jealousy is peeking through. Meanwhile, Yuxi was nodding her head as she listen to it intently while her eyes focused on the plate of food in front of her, unaware that Yibo was describing her.

"Senior, I'm sure you and the girl would be a good couple since both of you are such kind and thoughtful person. She's lucky to be liked by you," Yuxi replied with a sincere smile to Yibo.
