YuXin
I entered the exquisite boutique, looking around and spotted the high spirited Shuxin sitting at the white leather couch waiting for me. She gave me a wide smile and waved at me to go over as our eyes met.
"YuXin, help me take a look at which gown is better, I can't decide" she pouted, pointing at the gowns hanging on the rack. "Anyway, kun and I discussed about the set up for the engagement two weeks later. It would be at a private beach, to commemorate on the day we first met."
Right.. That's where the two of them first got to know each other. I browsed through the gowns and picked a lavender colored gown embossed with pastel floral design." How about this? It looks great for an outdoor event." Shuxin's face lit up and she nodded, "I'll try it."
After deciding on the gown, we went to a cafe for a drink. "YuXin, thank you for helping me out with this," she held on to my hand with a smile, "I really like you as a friend. "
Smiling at her, I replied, "Me too, I'm glad I could help you out."
"I did ask Kun if he'd like to pick out my gown with me together but he rejected saying that he doesn't have good taste in women's clothes," Shuxin added. My heart skipped a beat hearing that. He probably didn't want to see me either, after how I've left him without warning.
Taking a bite of the matcha cake with my fork my stomach started to churn as the creamy matcha taste hits my tastebud causing me to retch. I stood up and ran to the bathroom, emptying the contents in my stomach in the toilet bowl in the nick of time. "YuXin, are you okay?" Shuxin called out from outside of the cubicle.
Opening the cubicle, I went to rinse my mouth and nodded, "Maybe just feeling a little sick."
She held my arm and walked me back to our seat, "YuXin, do you need me to accompany you to the doctor?"
"Ah, it's alright. You still have things to do after this. I'll ask Yibo to come over instead," I took out my phone and gave Yibo a text.
Within 30 minutes, he arrived at the cafe running towards me with a face of worry. "YuXin, are you alright?" he smoothed my hair gently, looking at me with his eyebrows knitted together.
"She vomited her guts out just now, I think you better bring her to the doctor," Shuxin replied quickly.
Yibo brought me to the doctor, holding my hand tenderly while caressing my face as we waited for our turn. "I'm alright, Shuxin exaggerated my condition, you know how she is," I smiled looking at Yibo to assure him.
He rubbed his thumb across my cheek gently, "I know, but I'm still worried. It's better to get you checked."
The nurse called out my name and we entered the doctor's office. The doctor asked me the regular question of what I've eaten and how long the symptoms were there for. She looked at me with a pensive look and asked,"Miss Liu, when was your last menstrual cycle?"
The question threw me off and I stared at her with my mouth slightly agape. My mind was in a whirl as I tried to think back on my menstrual cycle. I haven't been keeping tabs on it with all that has been going on in my life and recalling the last time I had it, it was more than a month ago.. "You mean.. There's a possibility that I'm pregnant?"
She nodded and handed me a vial, "we need to do a urine test to know the outcome." I looked at Yibo who remained silent throughout our conversation. He gave me a squeeze on my hand and an encouraging smile.
"Yibo, what if I'm really pregnant?" I sniffed back my tears that was threatening to fall as we wait outside of the doctor's office. It can't be.. What are the chances of me having Kun's baby? Just when I started putting down my love for him.
