"AMBER CLAIRE! GET UP OR ELSE you are going to be late for school!" Dad yelled from downstairs, waking me up.
I groaned as I sat up. I looked around me to see that I fallen asleep on my desk once again. I must have fallen asleep while editing my photos.
I went to move, and I hissed as my body was stiff from sleeping in my desk chair. Thank goodness I was in my night clothes.
I got off my chair, and I headed straight to my closet. I grabbed undergarments, a pair of light washed baggy jeans that had rips at the knees, and an oversized pink sweatshirt that had a band's name on it. I changed into the outfit before heading to my bathroom.
I did my morning routine with my skin care and my makeup. Then I moved onto my hair. My hair was a dark brown, and it was long. I already have some what of way hair so I just decided to curl a few of the pieces to make it all blend in. Lastly, I sprayed perfume before walking back into my room.
I decided to wear my white platform converses, and I also put on all of my jewelry. The last piece was a small, heart shaped golden locket. Inside there was a picture of me and my Mom when I was a baby.
I admired the picture before shutting it. I brought the locket up to my lips, and I gave it a quick kiss.
"Amber! You got fifteen minutes before you have to leave! You better come on!" My Dad yelled once more from downstairs.
Sighing, I grabbed my backpack, slinging it over my shoulder, before leaving my bedroom. I quickly made my way down the stairs, and I walked towards the kitchen, knowing that's where my Dad was.
As soon as I opened the door, I saw my father drinking a cup of coffee while typing away on his laptop. When he noticed me, he gave me a grin.
"Good morning, Amber. There is bacon, eggs, and toast if you are hungry," he said, shutting his laptop.
I gave him a small smile,"Thank you."
I dropped my bag on the floor, against the island. I made myself a plate before fixing myself a cup of coffee. Then I sat down beside my father, who was dressed in his work clothes.
My father is the chief of the local hospital. He has been in that position for as long as I could remember. His black hair, along with a couple of gray streaks, was brushed neatly, and his dark blue eyes were staring at me.
Out of seven kids, I was the only one with identical blue eyes as my Dad. And yes, you heard that right. I am the seventh child of the Cade family.
I have five older brothers and one older sister. They are all grown with their own kids so it's basically like I'm an only child; especially after my Mom's death.
My Mom died when I was twelve years old. She died in a car accident, and it will be five years this September since her death. Every one of my siblings coped differently, but in doing so, they basically forgot about me.
