Now I was really mad. I could not have what I wanted. I pouted and sighed as I walked behind her yet she did not turn to look.
I heard a rattle that made me look up, and I saw a red rider on a horse galloping towards us!
"Watch out!" I yelled as I rushed to the girl and swung her around in my arms. The horseman galloped past spraying gravel and dirt all over my back.
"Are you okay?" I asked the girl, now softly cuddled in my arms.
She looked into my eyes then down her dress. There was a splatter of mud on the edge.
"No." she said as she stood up and brushed me aside. She patted down her dress to remove the dirt. She didn't have much luck with that.
Then she looked up, turned around, and once again... continued down the gravel path.
