Hogwarts School August 1971
The summer of this year was incredibly hot, the students who had just returned to Hogwarts school were sweltering under the harsh rays of sun. Many had taken to carrying their robes around in their arms rather than over their uniforms in an attempt to ease the heat, and the teachers all looked the other way.
Lucius Malfoy was thoroughly enjoying the beginning of his seventh year of school. Despite the budding excitement of finally being able to finish his studies and progress into the Ministry, we did wonder if he would find himself missing this place.
His peace and quiet was quickly disturbed by a weight around his shoulders and the smell of shampoo and tea engulfed his senses. He chuckled and lucked up through the curtain of blonde hair to see the face of Narcissa smiling down at him.
"You could have announced yourself Cissa"" he said gently. She sniggered at him and placed a chaste kiss on the corner of his mouth, hidden from the other students on the grass by her hair.
"Funny, I thought I did." she said teasingly as she sat herself down beside him, moving her book bag around beside her to pull out a quill and some parchment.
"You couldn't have gotten a seat any closer to the lake, could you?" she said sarcastically. "We're practically sitting on the mud Luce."
"Well it saw the shadiest spot. I wouldn't want you to get burnt. Since you refuse to wear that brimmed hat your mother sent with you." he argued.
"It's ghastly!" she insisted, scrunching up her nose. "It's black and tattered, I'd look like a spider! My legs are too long!"
Lucius snorted at that comparison. "You would not look quite like a spider Cissa." he said. "Only half like a spider."
Narcissa let out a cry of indigent shock and she hit Lucius' arm with her book. "Half like a spider!" she cried. "That is not how to woo a girl Malfoy!"
"Who said I was trying to woo anyone Black?" he challenged. "Besides, I feel though I need to do no further 'wooing' considering that we are already an item, are we not?"
Narcissa blushed and moved to put a hand over his mouth. "Shh Luce, don't say that here." she said, glancing around.
"Why, there is no one here." he said. "Another perk of this spot. That and the potential to swim once you've finished your divination paper. I know you brought that blue swimsuit in your trunk. I saw it."
Narcissa blushed even further. "Stop that! You know we can't say it here. If word was to get back to my father.."
"And how would word get back to them Cissy? Your sisters both graduated years ago, there are no cousins in sight. No family friends, no one but you and me, secluded on the edge of the pond.." Lucuis said, pushing some blonde hair off her shoulder and leaning closer to her, kissing her jaw. Narcissa shivered slightly and allowed him to continue for a moment before she forced herself to pull back.
"Lucius, we can't," she pleaded, not meeting his gaze. "Please.. Please."
Lucius exhaled, clearly more than a little frustrated, but nodded. "Alright Cissa." he said, reaching for his own bag.
Narcissa frowned and moved to crawl in front of him, kneeling so that they were face to face.
"Please don't be angry with me Lucius." she begged. "You know I truly am sorry, it's just that.. It's dangerous. My father, well, you know what he does when his daughters don't do exactly what he has asked."
