Saglit na natigilan sa rosell sa ginagawa nang marinig ang komosyon sa labas ng opisina niya.
"i cannot make an exemption for anyone sir, hindi pwedeng pumasok kayo sa loob ng opisina niya gayong hindi kayo kaano ano ng judge" Ms. Irine answered, their unit's secretary and a court stenographer.
"he holds a power in the government, anong karapatan mong pigilan siya!"
Mariing ipinikit muna ni rosell ang mata bago dinampot ang telepono at tinawagan si ms. Irene sa labas.
"yes, judge keran"
"is somebody outside?" he asked.
"yes sir, a congressman who claims to know you"
He sighed and told her to let them in. Ilang sandali pa ay bumukas na ang pintuan at pumasok ang isang ma edad na lalaking hindi niya naman talaga kilala.
"judge keran, its nice to meet you" paunang bati nito. He forced a smile and stood in his swivel chair.
"I'm Gerald Montes. Isa ako sa nag invest nang business mo, i think it's last year, too bad you became a judge already. We didn't meet personally" sabi nito at tinapik muna ang balikat niya bago umupo.
"what brings you here sir?" pormal niyang tanong at umupo sa tapat nito.
The congressman then cleared his throat before stating the reason why he is here, in which he surely knows why.
"I'm a newly elected congressman, but I'm also part of the legislation and judiciary committee, naiinteresado ako sa nangyayari dito sa korte. I really praised you by your way of giving verdict. No wonder you're fit being a judge" he stated.
Rosell smirked, totally hinting where the conversation is going.
Just cut the chase, will you?
"actually.. Hindi naman ito ang rason kung bakit ako andito. Pero..."
Here it is, again.
"chairman Lee has been providing support to my district. He owns a large construction company, pero dahil malaki ang negosyo niya... I guess it's impossible to avoid legal problems at times.." sabi nito.
Hindi maiwasang mapangisi si rosell sa narinig. He slightly smugged seeing how the congressman tried beating around the bush.
His hands clamped and stared into the congressman.
"i heard you guys are overseeing his lawsuit.."
"that's enough, sir.." he interrupted. Natigilan ang congressman at nalilitong tiningnan siya.
He sighed at tumayo, slightly pacing back and forth in his office. "if you say anything else, i can report you for violating the improper solicitation and graft act.."
The congressman scoffed at inayos ang sout nitong necktie.
"don't be so harsh on me. Investor mo ako, baka nakakalimutan mo"
Saglit siyang natigilan sa paglalakad at tiningnan ang congressman na hindi mapakali sa inuupuan nito.
"congressman montes, as far as i know, i am not a businessman anymore. I am a judge and you're not my client, to be direct.." he leaned on the table.
"i don't know you, nor i am interested to know you and your problem" he added.
"how dare you speak to me rudely!" the congressman roared.
