After the club fair, no students tried to apply for RDC. Duck thought that people would want to join the club after having such a fun activity. It was actually the complete opposite. Students were afraid of RDC. Word got out that some of the members of RDC wreaked havoc onto other clubs just for the fun of it. People also started rumors that some RDC members were gang affiliated. Some students even confirmed these rumors after seeing Duck and Nervous getting arrested with members of Las Naranjas. They also heard about the incident between Royal and the man who won first place. But no one dared to start a rumor about Royal considering she was the queen of Hazard college. If anything they drove the man out of town for rejecting Royal. Duck, Nervous and Royal never heard the rumors.
Duck and Nervous were laying on the empty club room floor with nothing to do. They were on opposite sides of the room. Nervous was laying flat on her stomach with her arms at her sides and her legs completely straight. Duck was in the corner with one of her legs propped up on the wall. She liked how the cold wall felt on her leg.
Neither of them had classes today. Royal was currently in class so they didn't have anyone to boss them around.
"We really need some furniture in here," Nervous yelled to the other side of the room. "People will probably want to join if we actually had stuff in here."
"We don't even have jobs so there is no way we can just buy furniture." Duck yelled back. "I wonder how the other clubs were able to get furniture for their club rooms."
"I have a great idea," Nervous said.
Duck and Nervous rolled to each other until they met in the middle of the room. The sound of Nervous' paper bag crunching filled the room as she rolled to Duck.
"I'm all ears," Duck said, waiting to hear Nervous' idea.
Nervous laid there for a little bit to build up the anticipation.
"We are gonna get jobs." Nervous said.
"Gross." Duck said. She started to roll back to her spot but Nervous grabbed her arm before she could escape.
"Come on Duck. It's only for a little while until we have enough money for furniture." Nervous said. "Plus if there is extra money left, you can buy Shrek merch."
Nervous knew how to persuade Duck.
"I like the sound of that." Duck said.
Duck and Nervous got off their butts and headed out the door. There was a whole road of possibilities ahead of them. Luckily for them, there was a job fair going on. The whole block was filled with booths with different companies offering jobs. The street was crowded with aspiring individuals looking for amazing internships that would help them with their future.
"Oh my god, look! There's Mcdonalds!" Duck yelled and pointed at the booth.
Nervous and Duck ran to the Mcdonald's booth. For some reason, it wasn't as crowded.
"Hi, um girls? Are you interested in working at Mcdonald's?" The manager of Mcdonald's asked. He wasn't sure what Nervous was considering since she had a bag over her head and she was wearing baggy clothes.
The manager was dressed in a yellow polo shirt and red pants. One of the workers next to him was wearing a Ronald Mcdonald costume. The clown makeup gave him a painted smile but deep down, he was dying inside.
"Yes, we need jobs so that we can support our sick grandma. We need to pay for her hospital bills." Duck lied.
The manager gave Duck and Nervous a sympathetic look.
"I am so sorry to hear that. Let me grab some applications for you girls."
The manager went to the back to grab applications. Ronald Mcdonald followed right behind him.
