Both Anthony and Luna praised Elara for not setting Pansy on fire or somehow else returning her torment.
They didn't cross paths with her until their very last class, which was Care of Magical Creatures. An exciting class for some, as they tended to the most magnificent creatures they have seen, yet boring for others, who yearned to learn something slightly more...dark.
Elara stood between Anthony and Luna, on one side of their open class near Hagrid's cottage, where their class ran. It was Luna who made sure they were as far away as possible from everyone who had attacked them previously, to avoid any conflicts.
"What do you think he'll bring out today," smiled Anthony, looking towards Hagrid's cottage.
"Something big, I can just feel it," Luna followed his direction.
"What's your bet, Dotson?" Anthony turned around, softly nudging Elara.
She had been staring at Pansy the whole time, smirking as she noticed Pansy became slightly worried. Pacing back and forth, her friends whispered something to her and made a step back once they noticed Elara had glared at them as well. They felt like prey, as only Elara knew how to make someone feel so small and fragile only by looking at them.
"Snakes would be nice for a change," Elara grinned.
"As if they aren't already here," Anthony chuckled, noticing how Pansy's face went pale.
Once Pansy broke their stare, Elara looked in her direction. As expected, Pansy's eyes were on Draco Malfoy, who had just made his way into the front row, standing somewhere between Pansy's gang and Elara's. He didn't look at either of them but instead chewed on his green apple.
"Alright, class, I must admit I'm not positive about today's lesson," greeted Hagrid as he walked into the circle. He was late for his class, as usual, and breathless, probably just having finished some other mysterious errands.
"But we'll have loads of fun, I'm sure of it," he smiled, as he whistled at something in the sky.
Moments later six giant creatures followed his calls, quickly descending onto the grounds. They were too fast for Elara to fully understand what she had just witnessed, as she blinked a few times to make sure she had no just imagined it. The sun blinded her, and she could swear they were flying horses. Once closer to the ground, its wings resembled of eagles; and its beaks opened their mouths to let out a loud screech. But perhaps the most mesmerising trait was their brilliantly orange eyes, which surveyed the surroundings for any potential danger.
"We had them in third year!" complained one of the Gryffindors from the back.
"Well, uh...bet you never rode one of them!" Hagrid assured his students, which already yawned with frustration.
"What are they?" Elara's jaw nearly hit the floor as the creatures proudly pranced around Hagrid.
"Hippogriffs," Luna explained, "very intelligent and can easily be offended."
"Malfoy's got the first-class experience of it," Anthony added loudly, on purpose. Draco's face immediately frowned, his expression darkening as his friends barked insults at Anthony.
"What do you mean?" Elara looked back and forth between the two, sensing some tension.
"He was annoyed that they trusted Harry so easily, so he approached one without proper etiquette. It broke his arm," Luna shook her head at Anthony, discouraging him from bickering. Elara bit her lip, annoyed that they had stolen this experience from her when she had to leave Hogwarts. Much like Luna, she was fascinated by magical creatures and wished to know them as much as possible.
