Namjoon had told him to fix it.
But he had never said how it had to be done. Only that it needed to be taken care of.
It was late. So late that he wasn't even certain if the other would even still be awake. Wondered if sleep was somehow evading Jungkook the same way it was him.
It had always been so much easier to sleep in the dorms. There was always a low buzz that seemed to be trapped within the walls of the place. Constant motion and activity. Things which could occupy his mind and keep his thoughts from racing. But alone in the silence of his too big apartment there was nothing to stop them from coming.
Nothing to stop him from thinking. From hoping. From wishing.
The screens backlight was harsh in the bleak darkness, and it took a moment for his eyes to adjust. For him to scroll to the right message window, once more properly labeled so there could be no mistaking who he was texting.
Handsomest_Hyung:
Hey
...
God that sounded weak and pathetic and he couldn't just leave it at that.
...
Handsomest_Hyung:
I know it's late and you're probably asleep
But
I can't stop thinking about you
...
There was no answer. He held into the phone so tightly for so long that there was a perfect imprint in his crooked fingers when he finally let it fall down onto his chest.
What had he even been expecting? For Jungkook to just jump up and answer him the second he finally found the courage to message him? After nearly a week of avoiding him completely.
Of course not. And he had been foolish to ever hope for it.
...
A soft sound brought him into the world of wakefulness, and he glanced towards the large window only to find that the world was still cloaked in darkness. Yet his phone was lighting up in the black, and he reached for it, far more eager than he should have been.
Kookie_Monster:
Hyung
You can't just ignore someone for a week
And then send them messages like that
Do you know what you're doing to me?
Do you know how I felt hearing those things you thought about me?
I want you to think those things
So bad
I want you to see how grown up I am
Handsomest_Hyung:
I see you
You grew up so well
You're so
Gorgeous
I look at you and I can't believe you're the same person I met all those years ago
It's really unfair for you to look like that
Kookie_Monster:
Look like what, Hyung?
Handsomest_Hyung:
Go look in a mirror
Kookie_Monster:
Mm, too much work
Maybe I should just
Take a selca
Handsomest_Hyung:
Send it to me
Kookie_Monster:
I'm not really sure you've earned it
Handsomest_Hyung:
I'll send you one back
Kookie_Monster:
A Worldwide Handsome exclusive
I feel special
Handsomest_Hyung:
You are special
Kookie_Monster:
Pay up baby
...
Sometimes he really hated his life. Because here he was, staring at the picture that was currently gracing his screen - and was two seconds away from becoming his background - only to realize that he currently resembled a trash can.
Thankfully, Kim Seokjin had never once been caught slipping. Because all he had to do was spread apart the shirt he currently wore, making sure it would show off just the right amount of skin. Pull the pillow down until it covered the fact that his hair was a mess and he had actual dark circles under his eyes.
The most important thing was still on display anyway.
...
Handsomest_Hyung:
A Worldwide Handsome exclusive
Just for you babe
Kookie_Monster:
Wow, okay
I didn't ask to be attacked like that
Handsomest_Hyung:
And I didn't ask to have to see those thighs everyday
Yet here we are
Jungkook
I know when you go silent it means you're planning something
Jeon
Jungkook
God I am
So screwed
