Betty Pov:
I wrapped my arms tightly around his neck, pulling my face into his chest as his arms clinger onto my body. I could feel him inhale the scent of my shampoo, his posture relaxing while still holding me close to him. He sat us onto the bench on my patio, drawing my onto his lap, cradling me as if I were the world, as if I held all of the answers for any questions he might ask.

That's what he was to me. That what he always had been, and what he still is. Without him, I would be lost.

The quick, clearly audible clacking of heels against the sidewalk caused both of our heads to lift, the raven-haired girl who wore them quickly in a hurry. That sense of rushing came to a sudden halt when she seemed to have spotted Jughead, running up the walkway that led to the cherry red door of my home.

She smiled too sweetly at Jughead, refusing to make eye-contact with me.

"Juggie! There you are! You left without saying anything. I got worried; I thought we were having fun.", she exclaimed before finally turning to look at me. "Hey, Bee! Is everything alright?".

This two-faced bitch.

I hopped off of Jug's lap, strutting confidently towards her. "Am I fine? REALLY, Veronica? No apology? No remorse whatsoever?", I snapped.

Her expression was dumbfounded, pretending as if I were seriously asking her which came first, the chicken or the egg? "I don't know what you mean, Bee. I haven't done anything wrong...", she trailed off, false confusion lingering in her tone.

I inhaled sharply, steam practically blowing from my ears as, I'm sure, my face turned bright red. I began to storm closer, Jughead's hand quickly catching my arm. I shrugged it off, pointing an accusing finger at Veronica.

"Don't you dare play nice, you fake, back stabbing bitch! You knew very well that I've had a crush on Jughead, and yet, you proceeded to throw yourself onto him tonight! And you have nothing to be sorry for??", I screamed.

I felt the tension rising behind me, soft footsteps emerging. "Wait. You knew, Veronica? You knew that we liked each other, and yet, you acted as if it was one-sided? We both told you, and you pretended as if the odds of us liking each other were hopeless?", Jughead realized, scoffing.

"Betty's right. You are a bitch, and a horrible friend to both Betty and I, but mostly Betty. What happened to girl code, huh? Oh- Also, don't ever call me 'Juggie' again. Only Betty gets to call me that. I never gave you that right, and I refuse to let that slide anymore. And I doubt Betty wants you calling her 'Bee' anymore, either. So why don't you do us and yourself a favor and leave?", he yelled, nostrils flaring.

Veronica let out a mocking chuckle. "You guys, I don't understand why I'm being made out to be the bad guy here. I wasn't required to tell either of you anything. I wasn't the messenger. Besides, you both asked me to keep it a secret, so who was I to spill? If anything, I'm a great friend! And I'll call you both whatever I please. Us Lodges don't like to be told what to-".

She was abruptly cut off with a firm slap to the face, delivered by none other than myself. "Go to Hell, Veronica. Don't ever expect us to speak to you again.", I muttered, Jughead placing a soft hand on my shoulder, caressing it with his thumb. "Please leave before I become more upset. I might take matters out of Betty's hands and into my own, and I don't think you want me to hurt you.", he added.

Her expression dropped in fear as she began backing away slowly and defensively. "Fine. You two psychos deserve each other anyways.", she snarked, flipping her hair before scurrying off to find some other guy to make out with.

I felt a warm pair of lips against my neck, marking themselves onto it repeatedly. Teeth soon joined the mix. I tangled my hands into his fluffy hair as he stood behind me, arms hugging my torso. "I'm so glad she's out of our lives. She's always been kinda bitchy, anyways.", he murmured against my skin. "Plus, you looked incredibly sexy telling her off.".

Shallow breaths slipped from my own lips as my head dropped back onto his other shoulder. "That was really sweet of you, standing up for me like that. I really appreciate it.", I responded.

He chuckled, lifting his head from my neck and placing a brisk kiss onto my cheek. "Anything for you, princess. Now how about we celebrate us finally getting together with some couch cuddles and a movie night?", he suggested, a grin sprawling across his adorable face.

I smiled wide, blushing and nodding. "That sounds magical. I love you.", I said.

"I love you more, Betts. I'm never letting you go; I've waited too long. But it was worth it.".

It's strange to think that in reality, we had none other than our bitchy ex-best friend to thank for getting us together. None of it would've happened if I hadn't run off at the sight of her hands all over him, and for that, I'm grateful. Not for how it happened, no, but for the events that it put into effect. She unintentionally led us to revealing the feelings she fought so hard to conceal, and though we never forgave her, we could at least appreciate the fact that it happened.

Regardless, I wouldn't have it happened any other way. We cut the toxicity out of our lives, and now, Jughead and I were finally together, after years of waiting for each other. We're each other's everything, and that experience that we share makes it all the more special.

Y'all asked for part 2, and I, of course, had to comply to the wishes of the people. I'm sorry if it's not what y'all hoped for, but I tried my best. Feedback is appreciated!💜
