It had been somewhere around 50 years since the last living tree was ever spotted.

Once never had any visitors, and never expected to.

That's why he almost fell when he heard the doorbell ring.

"Hello, anyone up there?" A mysterious voice asked from below.

"Whaddya want kid? Didn't you read the signs?" Once replied, annoyed.

"Do you perhaps know anything about... Trees?" The voice said, ignoring the question.

"Trees... Why do you event want to know?"

"Because... uh... They're cool?" The voice answered

"Its because of a girl, isn't it"

"Not just any girl! Shes in high school and shes determined to get a tree, so im gonna get her one."

"I made some stupid decisions about someone once. Now kid, whats your name?" Once replied.

"Ted. And really?"

"Yes. Now do you wanna know about trees? And what happened to them?"

"Yeah!" Ted replied eagerly.

"Well, it was me. I cut them down. For my invention called a "thneed". It was one of the biggest selling items in the world, that is, until my family cut down all the trees. There was this majestical creature, "The Lorax" who claimed to be the "guardian of the trees" and I broke his promise of not cutting down the trees..."

"Wow... So now, how do i get a tree exactly"

Once lifted a brow and chuckled.

"Buckle in, because this is a long story."
