We're standing on top of a massive pillar, awaiting instructions. "Ahem," Beans addresses. "This is the site of the Hunter Exam's third phase you'll be competing here on top of Trick Tower. I order to pass this phase you must reach the base of the tower alive. The timer is 72 hours. And with that, the third phase will now begin. Good luck to each of you." Bean explains. Not much detail. Not much help, but it will suffice.
"Now what? Are we supposed to climb down?" Leorio clutches his briefcase closer to the chest.
"I hope not. That would be suicide." Kurapika notes."If this is a tower, there must be an inside. We probably have to go down from the inside."
"Suicide, for most guys," a beefy guy boasts, his tag bearing the number 87. He immediately starts climbing down the side of the tower. "For an expert rock climber like me." He's fast. I can hear flapping noises. Their coming closer. Emerging from behind the side of the tower, giant red demonic-looking creatures swarm out. One of them scoops the man up, quickly flying off. You can hear the man's screams quickly become silenced.
Mans really thought he was built different.
"This supports my claim. There's no way we're supposed to climb down the side. Let's go find a different way," quickly turning away from the edge I fast walk away.
Kurapika speaks my mind. "there are fewer people than before,"
"They must have found an exit already," I say before he gets the chance to finish."We're missing something." No shit. If we weren't we'd already be in the tower. "There must be hidden doors."
I snap my fingers. "Trap doors.""Y/n! Leorio! Kurapika" Gon yells, waving us to him. He must have found something. "Look at this! We found a trap door, check it out!" Gon explains, proud of himself. He pushes lightly on a tile, cause it to shift.
"The only way we can reach the lower levels is by turning over these stones then?"
"Good work Gon!" I thank him, patting his head.
"Thanks. But I'm sorry of confused." He begins pointing out the many trapdoors around us."No doubt a few of them are traps" kurapika concludes.
"From what I can tell, each of these trap doors can only be used once. We saw someone fall through one earlier, but when we checked it out it wouldn't budge."
"There's room for only one person to use each door. It looks like we're going to have to split up."
"So we each go down one, if one ends up being a trap, oh well. Is that it?" I conclude I'm starting to get impatient when never ends well.
"No objection here," Kurapika agrees.
"Seems like luck is just part of the game." Leorio seconds. We each stand on one of the trap doors, bidding our farewells. We all enter on the count of three. My landing isn't graceful in the least. I'm pretty sure I twisted my ankle. "Ah ah, ouch," yeah. I definitely did. Besides me Leorio groans. He fell in his face. I'm genuinely supposed he somehow managed not breaking his glasses. Looking around the room I see Kurapika, Killua, and Gon. The trapdoors must have just been connected to this room. I can't catch a break from these guys.
"That was certainly a brief farewell," Kurapika points out as he dusts his clothes off.
"Who knew the trapdoors would just lead us to the same room." Leorio regains his composure.
