Iris West was one of the most popular cheerleaders at CCHS. (Central city high school) She and the other cheerleaders were on the field early that morning practicing for the CCNCC. ( Central city National cheerleading championship) Okay girls, let's run through the routine again. Coach Lane blew her whistle. B-E-A-T beat 'em. B-U-S-T bust 'em. Beast'em Bust'em that's our custom GO BULLDOGS!!!! They chanted while doing some jumps and dances. Dawgs on 3. 1 2 3 Iris took the lead before they all chanted again at the same time. DAWGS! They yelled as they struck a pose.
Coach Lane turned on a boombox CD player and music began to play as the cheerleaders made a pyramid. Nia Nal was on the top as she felt her legs wobble, then suddenly she lost her balance and fell back. Luckily Allegra Garcia was able to catch her. Girls, we can't afford to make any mistakes. CCNCC is in 4 weeks we have to focus and work just as hard if we wanna win. Coach Lane declared. Nia, I want you to work on your balancing. She locked eyes with her. Alright, I'll see you all again tomorrow. Coach Lane dismissed them.
It's okay Nia, you'll be fine. You just have to practice balancing and you'll be fine. Allegra assured her. Thanks. I will. Nia sighed. She and Allegra grabbed their bags before saying goodbye to their friends, Iris West and Sara Lance. Hey boy, Iris greeted her Bulldog Spike in a baby like voice. I need to take him back to my dad's office, you wanna come? Iris grabbed her bag and Spike's leash. Okay sure. Sara smiled while scratching Spike's head. After getting their stuff, they blissfully walked to the Principal's office.
Can you believe it? In a few months we'll be out of this place. Sara chirped. Yeah, it felt like only yesterday we started high school. I am going to miss this place though, especially cheer. Iris sighed. Did you fill in the applications for CCU yet? Sara asked. Of course I did. You? Iris said. Uh, do you even have to ask that? Like duh, yeah I did. Sara laughed. Sara and Iris were best friends since freshman year of high school, and now since they were both seniors, they wanted to go to the same college.
They approached Principal West's office and knocked on the door. Yeah? They could hear him call out. Uh, dad? Iris slowly walked in. Hey Principal West. Sara greeted as she followed Iris into the office. Oh, hey Sara. How's it going? Joe West smiled. Great, I guess. Sara sat down on one of the chairs. I just came to bring Spike back. Iris unhooked his leash. Was he good? Joe asked as the dog waddled onto his dog bed next to Joe's desk. Yeah, he was a good boy, right Sara? Iris turned to face her. Yeah. He was well behaved. Sara agreed. Well that's good. Seeing that he's our school mascot, I need you two girls to keep an eye on him when you have him for cheer practice. Joe bent over to pet him.
Dad, we always do. Iris said. Yeah, and he's the best mascot ever... and the cutest one. Sara said getting up from where she was sitting. Well... I guess I'll see you two later. Iris made her way to the door. Okay then. Love you babygirl. Bye Sara. Joe smiled as he watched them leave.
