My dad is out of sight the second that I approach the gate. He's probably off looking for a coach or some advisor. It's okay, though. We made small conversation as I unpacked my clothes and other goods from home.

Our relationship isn't the best but since I got a full ride to UMichigan, things at home have been bearable. Sometimes I get sad that my mom and I don't talk anymore but I know that it's for the best.

Some people don't deserve to be your life.

I'm still a compsci major but I have a book in progress right now. I don't know what the future holds for me but I'm not too worried about it. I'm taking it one step at a time and prioritizing my own happiness for once.

My steps hasten as I enter the football field, admiring the large blue and yellow letters sprayed across the turf. A smile breaks on my face.

He stands in the middle of the field. Like he owns it.

I start running and he picks me up with ease, twirling me until giggles flood from my lips.

He's even more handsome than I remember.

"Miss me?" Zack asks with a smirk as he lets me down.

I let out a snort. "No."

He gives me a look. "Almost two years together and you can't admit you missed me? Don't tell me you still have my number saved as don't reply."

"If only I had listened to my own advice back then," I say regretfully, shaking my head.

"Oh, come on, princess," he teases, pulling me into his arms. "You love me."

His grin is wide as he wraps his arms around my waist, where they belong. My lips pull into a smile as I look into those eyes.

"Yeah," I agree finally. "I do."

When he leans down to kiss me, I feel the stars align.
