"So...you're gonna try harder," Jaemin raised an eyebrow watching Donghyuck pace up and down his room.
"I have to," Hyuck spun, facing Jaemin and walked over to him. Donghyuck had finally told Jaemin the reason as to why he started to do practically everything extremely well. He was having a meltdown to him earlier that day about Mark and Jaemin had questioned him so he decided to explain himself.
Donghyuck sat at Jaemin's feet. "Have you ever just considered that maybe...Mark doesn't actually even want to think of you that way?" Jaemin crossed his legs on Hyuck's bed, leaning forward slightly.
Donghyuck sighed, looking down. "I don't want to give up just yet," he mumbled, pulling at the fluff of his carpet. He still had a bit of hope that either Mark did love him back or would fall for him eventually. He just had to keep trying.
Jaemin fell back on the bed, "it doesn't always work out you know," he sighed.
Donghyuck's head shot up. He sat up properly, rolling his shoulders back and gritting his teeth.
"Look," he said, "I know you haven't had the best luck yet, but I have all the faith I could possibly need to know not to give up." He glared at Jaemin, "I'm gonna to try my damn best to be the best, so I can be the best person for Mark."
"For Mark?" Jaemin asked, voice dripping with boredom.
Donghyuck swallowed, inhaling proudly, "and for me."
Donghyuck's phone began to ring, catching his and Jaemin's attention. Jaemin raised his head looking at Donghyuck while Hyuck grabbed his phone.
"It be a Mark," Donghyuck pinched his phone at the corner, raising it so Jaemin could see. Jaemin squinted, nodded and then flopped his head back. Donghyuck giggled, answering the call.
"Hallo?" Donghyuck answered, putting the phone on speaker, not caring if Jaemin could here.
"Hey Channie." Donghyuck snorted. "What?"
"Hey Chan, Haechan, get it," Donghyuck laughed, picturing Mark rolling his eyes.
"...dude just answer your door, it's freezing," Mark spoke, his teeth audibly chattering through the phone. Donghyuck looked up in slight confusion and panic toward Jaemin, who had raised his head again when Mark had said he was at the door.
"What th- hold up." Donghyuck hung up, chucking his phone at Jaemin's stomach, the younger boy groaning in pain as it hit.
Donghyuck jogged down the stairs to the front door, ruffling his hair slightly. He opened the door, only to be met with ice.
"MARK!" Donghyuck screeched as Mark jumped on to him for warmth. Mark's icy form clung to Donghyuck's body and the poor younger boy struggled to gain his balance.
After he managed to stop stumbling, he closed the door with his foot...with Mark still latched to him.
"Hyung," Donghyuck looked Mark dead in the eyes. "Get. Off." Donghyuck tried to peel Mark off of him, but the elder was unfortunately stronger, clinging on even tighter.
"Haechanie, it's coldddd," Mark whined.
"The heater is on and I have blankets now leaaavveee meeeee you warmth stealing potato," Donghyuck complained, desperately trying remove Mark off of him.
Mark laughed, finally unraveling himself of Donghyuck. He looked at Hyuck with a smile, "wassup?"
Donghyuck looked at him with a blank expression. "And here you are again!...uninvited...again," Donghyuck breathed out. Mark gave a small giggle before taking one of the blankets from the couches and treading upstairs.
