"Sup lads," Donghyuck looked up as Jisung dropped his tray on the table. Everyone nodded toward him, Jeno snorting a bit. Jisung sat down and Jaemin immediately pinched his cheek from across the table. "Whyyyy," Jisung whined, frowning a bit.
"Cause I haven't seen you in a while," Jaemin smiled, taking a bite of his rice.
"Hyung, we literally live with each other...we share a room," Jisung said, shaking his head in confusion.
"Yeah but that was like thr- what the hell Renjun?!"
Everyone's attention was quickly turned to Renjun as the boy staggered to his seat. He had dark circles around his eyes, his hair tousled and glasses loosely holding on to the bridge of his nose. Renjun placed his tray down, sitting next to Jisung and collapsing on to his shoulder.
Donghyuck turned to see panic run through Jeno's face. "Injun! What happened," Jeno asked, immediately reaching for Renjun's hand.
"Shhhh," Renjun hit his finger of his mouth repeatedly, closing his eyes.
"His flight only landed last night and he wasn't allowed to skip today," Mark explained, "he almost fell asleep in our science class."
Jeno laughed, reaching across the table and caressing Renjun's cheek with the back of his finger. "Poor Injunnie," he murmured to himself. Jaemin gave him a small smile, giggling a bit himself.
Donghyuck took in a deep breath, trying desperately to suppress the laugh that was lingering at the back of his throat. Wow these people are whipped. He looked to Mark who gave him a smile in return. Oh yeah, so was he.
"Heyo!" Chenle sat down at the table, followed by a girl that Donghyuck had never seen but assumed was Yeojeong. "I thought since you guys have never met her, I'd finally introduce you to Yeojeong," he explained.
Donghyuck looked at Jisung who was frowning and leaning his head on Renjun's. He looked to Jaemin, both slightly frowning at one another briefly before turning back to Yeojeong.
"Hi, so I'm Yeojeong, Chenle's girlfriend, I hope we can be friends," she smiled.
Donghyuck pursed his lips together, not knowing what to think. On one hand, she did seem genuine and nice and maybe the reason he was feeling a bit disturbed/annoyed is probably cause Jisung looked sad. But on the other hand, he really didn't like her and was slowly convincing himself that she was probably just plastic.
Jeno smiled, speaking up and gaining Donghyuck's attention. "Well it's nice to meet you too, sorry everyone's just a little out of it," he grinned.
"Ah it's okay, so what are your names?" Yeojeong said chirpily. "I only know Mark and I believe there is a Jaemin, Donghyuck and Jiseok."
"Jisung," Jisung corrected with a dead voice.
"Ah right," she shook her head with a smile.
"Right so," Jeno clapped," I'm Jaemin, this is- wait," he cut himself off, realising his mistake.
Jaemin blinked at him, before turning back to Yeojeong and offering a hand. "Yep and I'm Jeno, nice to meet you."
Donghyuck laughed, gesturing to himself, "yes, I'm actually Mark and this," he gestured to Mark, "is Renjun."
Jeno's face turned red, burying his face into his arms. Jaemin pointed to Jisung, "yup and this one is Donghyuck and the one who's asleep on him is Jisung."
"Guys, you're confusing her...and me honestly," Chenle laughed, moving his arm around Yeojeong's shoulders. Donghyuck watched how Jisung subtly hugged Renjun's waist, closing his eyes for a moment. Donghyuck looked panickedly toward Jaemin, cursing slightly at Jeno for sitting in between them so he couldn't just tap him.
Mark cleared his throat as if hearing Donghyuck's breakdown over Jisung, gaining everyone's attention. "Sorry we're just messing around," he smiled although Donghyuck immediately could tell it was slightly forced. "I'm Mark obviously and this is Donghyuck, Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung and Renjun," he smiled.
Yeojeong nodded, "ah right, nice to meet you."
She smiled at everyone before turning to Jisung. "And it's finally nice to actually meet you Jisung, I've heard a lot about you." Jisung hummed in response, clearly far from caring.
"Uh, so what do yo-" Yeojeong was cut off by Jisung sighing and looking up.
"Look," Jisung said bluntly, "I know you're a nice person but I really am not in the mood right now, thanks." He rolled his eyes, earning a small kick under the table from Jaemin, who was glaring at him. "We can talk another time," Jisung fakely smiled to satisfy Jaemin.
Chenle frowned slightly before standing up. "Excuse me one moment," he said, gesturing for Yeojeong to follow. She raised an eyebrow at him but quickly followed suit, both walking out of the cafeteria. Donghyuck furrowed his eyebrows looking at Mark. Mark shrugged at him, frowning slightly.
A little while later, Chenle came back in by himself. He sat himself down at the table and calmly started drinking his soup.
"Um," Jeno blinked, looking quickly at Jaemin before looking back at Chenle, "where's Yeojeong?"
"Hm? Oh she wasn't vibing with Jisung," he said casually.
"So?" Mark asked, visible confusion on his face. Well, on everyone else's face.
"So I broke up with her," Chenle said, nodding his head.
"What!" Donghyuck yelled, everyone's jaw dropping. Jisung turned rapidly toward Chenle, causing Renjun's head to fall and hit the table. The poor boy groaned in pain, clutching his head and Jeno and Jaemin immediately sat up.
"Jisung!" Jeno yelled, cradling Renjun's head as he was still in a sleepy state.
"The baby!" Jaemin slapped Jisung's hand before turning to Renjun and asking him if he was okay. Renjun nodded meekly just resting his head on Jeno's hand as Jisung argued back.
"Excuse me! Are we forgetting I'm the youngest," he threw his arms in the air. Jaemin and Jisung started bickering loudly as Jeno quietly took care of Renjun and Chenle continued eating his soup.
Donghyuck felt Mark shuffle closer to him as people were staring at their conundrum so he clapped his hands, gaining his friends' attention. "Alright! Okay! Renjun are you okay?" Renjun nodded once, starting to fall back asleep in Jeno's hand. "Okay, Jisung, yes you are still baby but remember everyone is Jaemin's baby so shush." Jisung pouted. "And now finally you," Donghyuck gestured to Chenle, "explain yourself." Mark patted Donghyuck's thigh and Donghyuck nodded, acknowledging the silent thank you.
Chenle put his spoon down, "I told you," he looked up, pointing toward Jisung, "she wasn't vibing with Jisung and before any of you rats, my best friend's opinion comes in first." Chenle nodded, going back to his soup, "I can't just have a girlfriend who my friend doesn't like."
Everyone nodded slowly, still a lot of confusion flowing through the entire group. Well almost everyone as Renjun was fully knocked out and Jeno was too busy staring at him.
Slowly everyone went back to normal, Jisung and Jeno moving Renjun so that he could sleep on Jisung's thigh and everyone moving into their own small conversations.
Mark leaned over to Donghyuck, "I thought eight people at this table was too much anyway."
"What and seven is nowhere near as cluttered?" Donghyuck snorted.
"Seven make the dream work," Mark grinned.
Donghyuck burst into laughter, "what even man."
Mark giggled a bit, "we're stronger as seven, we all know this."
Donghyuck nodded with a smile himself, bumping his head on Mark's shoulder before going back to eating his lunch.
"I think I'm just stronger with you."
