*I have been putting in the work these past few days on these chapters and rewatching the Interhigh, seeing people, doing sports and then writing this has really been annoying for me but fuckit I love writing this thing and I can't wait until I get to start writing the volleyball matches and give Yūji and Johzenji the match they fricking deserved*
"W-Why am I here, when I could be with Amiko or something...."
Kyūki was standing in front of the massive institution that was Aoba Johsai High, her trembling legs not helped by the fact she wore a skirt, a letterman's jacket with Chuck Taylor high tops on a cold afternoon, not to mention the breeze that had come as well.
She hadn't had much time to hang out with any of her old friends now that she had been included in Kisuke's friend group, so hearing from one of the few people who'd have stuck around her since childhood was a pleasant surprise for the raven-haired teen. However, she didn't expect for him to ask her to come watch a practice volleyball match at Seijoh right after her school day had ended.
She was cold and nervous, but pushed on towards the school gym, checking her phone to see if her friend would ever text her about what's happening.
Kyūki Aizagawa
-Kentarō, where are you going to be?Kyūki tried reaching the blonde boy again, but still received no response. She was aware of how her close friend was a stuck-up temperamental baby sometimes, but he rarely didn't text back after ten minutes or so, so she was starting to get irritated. She was well aware of Kyōtani's volleyball prowess and how he was on the Seijoh boy's team, so she also took into how he might be in the middle of warming up, but her thoughts were halted when a buzz came on her phone and the boy had replied,
Kentarō Kyōtani
-Come inside. I'm waiting for you. With a slight giggle and a smile on her rosy cheeks, Kyūki skipped her way to the Aoba Johsai gym entrance, passing by students and groupies alike as a familiar third-year brunette approached from the distance.
"Yahoo, Kyūki-chan! Over here~!"
The tall ravenette flinched when she words those words, and slowly and shakily turned to face the cheerful boy jogging towards her with a smile on his face.
"H-Hey there, Oikawa...", Kyūki replied, putting on a fake smile.
If there was anyone in this world that Kyūki hated in this world, it was people like Tōru Oikawa. Flirtatious, manipulative, with a thin cover that hides his true personality, Kyūki wanted no business with the Seijoh captain. She had met him previously, although it was always brief encounters whenever she came to see Kentarō or Yahaba. Every time it was always the same thing; The brunette flirt would always try and recruit her into his collection of groupies, and she would have to hold her tongue and her blush back from creeping up onto her face and into the world. Kyōtani did help her with that, however, as the Mad Dog would often growl at the third-year, and would guard Kyūki like a pack animal by putting himself between Oikawa and the tall ravenette. She always welcomed the gesture, seeing as how it always ended any contact with the third-year, but sometimes she felt like it was over the top.
"Kyūki-chan, you rarely ever return my calls, did kyōken-chan already steal your heart or something~?", Oikawa asked with a smirk, irking the ravenette.
Please just leave me alone, Oikawa, I don't like you.....
Feeling like ramming the boy's words down his throat that late afternoon, Kyūki hardened her gaze and put her hands on her hips and boasted,
