Ukai walked back into the gym with a broad grin on his face after his encounter with Iriko, and came back to his team having a break with a winning set against Ubugawa. It was the third day and Karasuno had won only a handful of sets, with everyone working on their own moves throughout the separate games. Ukai would normally have blown a fuse at the way they were playing, but he already knew that this was crucial to their development and they needed this progress and experience if they were ever going to topple Seijoh, and hopefully, Shiratorizawa afterwards.
Calling for a team meeting, Ukai took a deep breath, mentally preparing himself for the pandemonium that was to come once he gave the team the news Iriko had given her.
Once everyone had circled around him, he hardened his gaze, and forwarded the message the ravenette had given him.
"Right, so today, Kisuke's maid had come by to pick up some spare clothes for him and Yachi,"
"Aw, Iriko came by and we didn't get to see her?", Hinata whined with a childish pout on his face.
"Yes, she was here only a couple minutes ago, but I specifically kept her away from you guys so you could, uhm, practice! Yeah, that's it.", Ukai replied, hopeful his garbage excuse would be enough for his dim-witted team to drop the subject.
"But as I was saying, she came by and she told me that Kisuke would be returning to the school to watch the games and stay with the team. But the bad news is that his fractures have put him out of action for the next eight weeks, which means that we'll be playing the Interhigh preliminaries without him."
Kageyama's gaze hardened and he took a glance at Yamaguchi, who did the same and gave a stiff nod to the setter. He took a step forward and asked the blonde coach,
"Excuse me, Coach. Is Yachi coming back as well?"
Ukai said with a firm nod, "Yes, she's coming back as well, but I've given her permission to stay away from her managing duties for the time being, I figured she would need time to rest as well, even if she was practically spotless compared to Kisuke."
Kageyama hid his devilish grin as well as he could when he heard the news. He took a glance at Yamaguchi a second time, and both boys nodded in unison. Their plans would be set in motion in only a matter of minutes.
In all honesty, Kageyama never had Yamaguchi's emotions in his mind. He wasn't going to knock Kisuke off his throne right next to Yachi just so he would have to fight another battle with the olive-haired boy. The King of the Court is a self-serving, dominating control freak, after all.
He never planned on joining up with Yamaguchi for both of their sakes. He never intended to share Yachi with anyone else. He was going to manipulate every minor detail so that by the end of the training camp, Yachi would be putty in the palm of his hand.
Kageyama stepped out of the team huddle, volleyball in his hand, his cape and crown in full view to the rest of the gym.
Hitoka wanted desperately to sprint into the gym and jump right into Kiyoko's and the other manager's arms, she was so excited to announce that she was Kisuke's girlfriend. She had never been in a relationship before, and was definitely nervous and unsure of what to do, but one she did want to do was brag to her friends about dating him. She was relieved when Amiko texted her and said that she had moved on from Kisuke, and that he was only a physical attraction that she felt that she mistook for love. Kyuki, on the other hand, she hadn't heard from since last night's call Kisuke got where he told her that he was in a relationship. She worried for the raven-haired girl, but at the same time, she doubted that Kyuki would try to split them up or be a homewrecker or anything crazy like that.
