Y/N's PERSPECTIVE
So far, this instructor Shadis was really freaking me out. He had already head-butted another trainee named Jean and lifted a short boy named Connie Springer into the air by his head. Shadis had skipped over a few of us. "Is your heart on your right side, shithead?!" The instructor screamed at Connie. Then, we heard someone take a bite of something. I glared at Reiner, who shot me a weird look. I turned my head, to see Shadis in front of a girl with a potato.
TIMESKIP
To be honest, I actually felt bad for Sasha Braus or potato girl. She had to run around the premises for 5 hours. Everyone in the dining hall was chowing down, but I just stared at the soup and hard bread that sat in front of me. " Y/N, are you alright? " Annie asked me. I nodded.
Annie didn't seem like the type to show any emotion at all. How did I know? I had been with her my whole life. We all shared a secret, me, Reiner, Bertholdt, and Annie. We all had a titan. We were the ones that breached Wall Maria and the front and back gate to Shiganshina District. Bertholdt, the colossal titan, had kicked the front gate in, while Reiner, the armored titan had broken the back gate.
Why was I remembering this now? I snapped back to reality and offered my food to Annie. She took it with a " thank you ".
THE NEXT DAY
ANNIE's PERSPECTIVE
Hand to hand combat. It was easy right? At least that's what I thought. I could take down Eren multiple times without even breaking a sweat, while Y/N could only get a few hits in, then get pinned to the ground by someone like Armin. I could tell Y/N wasn't trying though, at least because he didn't want to hurt him. Then, we got paired up together.
I could see a bit of fear in his eyes. Why though? We'd been together all our lives and he's still scared of me? Well, whatever. Maybe he'll try harder against me. He nodded, signaling that we could start. We circled each other, waiting to see who would make the first move.
Of course, it was him. He attempted to throw a right hook but clumsily missed. I could see it in his eyes. Y/N knew what was coming. I used my technique as I would on Eren, but I didn't go as hard. " Shit! Annie, Annie! You win, come on now! " Y/N gasped. Fighting back a smile, I got up and walked away. Hand to hand combat was over.
TIMESKIP
Y/N's PERSPECTIVE
It was hard to believe that I had a titan, a titan stronger than the armored titan and Annie's titan combined. For some reason I was happy that Annie used her technique on me, I could still feel where her arms had been around me. I was sitting by the trunk of a tree, enjoying the warm sun.
Then I heard panting, and I peered around the trunk. Nobody was on the field by the tree so why- then I saw it. I could see a few strands of straight, blonde hair. " Oi, Christa." I scooted a little bit more to the left, finally seeing her face. It wasn't Christa, it was Annie. She sat on the other side of the trunk, sweating like crazy. " Annie? " I crawled over to her. " Y/N, why are you here? " She asked me, while I extended my hand to feel her forehead. Annie was burning hot.
" What in the- come on, we're going to the infirmary," I told her, but she didn't move. " Don't be like that or I'll have to carry you." Annie sighed and got up. I gripped her hand and started to walk to the infirmary.
TIMESKIP
We finally made it to the infirmary and I was asked to wait in the " Lobby ". The lobby was made up of rows of wooden chairs with a table that looked like it would collapse in between rows. I was really worried about Annie. What if this was something critical? Or maybe I was just exaggerating and it was just a little fever.
Annie came stumbling out with a doctor by her side. " Annie!" I ran over to her, and she basically collapsed in my arms. The doctor explained to me that she had a high-grade fever and that she just needed rest. Just needed rest, my ass. I took her to our cabin and tucked her in. I snuck into the dining hall and spooned some soup into a wooden bowl.
I returned to the cabin. I slowly climbed up onto the bunk and shook her a bit. " Y/N?" She opened an eye, then the other, and sat up. " You have a high-grade fever," I told her, holding out the soup and spoon. She took it and began eating silently.
