Sorry for the delay! I kind of ran out of some ideas. But, I'm back with many more! Now please enjoy the rest of the story. (Also, I'm going to stop switching perspectives as much )

I walked down the dirt streets, stopping every second or two to re-adjust Annie, who was knocked out cold on my back. She was getting a bit heavy. Her hot breath warmed my ear, which I appreciated on this cold night. We had just been released from our long expedition. Marco and Jean walked in front of us, glancing back at me and Annie every once in a while.

It seemed like all the darkness that was once in these walls faded away. Children giggled and ran after each other as adults at the market grinned happily. I let out a teensy smile. We turned left at a two-way path. Annie and I were assigned different houses than the rest of the scouts. ( I'm not sure if they live together { small edit; now that I remember that soldiers fr stay in barracks I'm embarrassed- )

I sighed, turning into a dark alleyway. I felt around with my boot until I hit something hard in front of me. It was the door to a very beat-up house, where the MP/Military Police had told us we lived. The house looked a bit rundown on the outside, but Annie had fixed it up inside.

While trying not to drop her, I stuck my hands in my grass-stained pockets feeling around for my house keys. Annie flinched, which made me freak out. I growled, getting a bit frustrated. The door creaked open, and Sasha with our whole stash of cookies and ice cream in her arms was walking backward silently closing the door behind her.

" Hopefully I made it in time! Hehe," She snickered. She turned around. Her facial expression dropped instantly. She opened her mouth to scream, but I laid my hand over her mouth. I wasn't going to let her wake Annie up. I pulled my hand away.

I wiped my hands off on my pants and entered the house. I turned, shooting Sasha the most horrifying look I could generate, and closed the door. I made my way up the stairs, squinting in the darkness to locate each step. It was tiring and took ages, but I finally made it to Annie's room. I lay her down on the bed, propping her up.

I slid off her jacket and struggled to take off her harness. I finally got it off and grabbed a fuzzy blue blanket that Annie had insisted I got for her. I covered her up, quickly running back to her to take her boots. I quietly shuffled back to the door, closing it behind me. Carefully creeping down the stairs, I sat down on the nearby couch. I heard a thud above me, where Annie's room was.

Shit, what the hell was that? I ran up the stairs, literally almost out of breath. I flung the door open, pointing my little knife out in front of me. Annie sat there, staring up at me. " What the hell are you doing?" I dropped the knife on the ground. I held out my hand, Annie taking it.

I lifted her. With a quick motion, I carried Annie bridal style downstairs. Moving over to the couch, I lay her down there. She started to murmur a little ' woosh' as she slept. I closed my eyes, only to fall asleep.

I woke up to bright sunshine shining in through the windows. It stung my eyes. Turning around, I stared at an empty couch. You could still see the shape of Annie's body imprinted into the cushion. I looked around, and everywhere. No sign of Annie.

I groaned, pulling on my white pants, sliding my black shirt on, attaching my harness, and slipping on my boots. I ran my fingers through my hair, opening the front door. I squeezed myself out of the cold alleyway, and into the warm sun. Horses neighed as I walked down the streets calling out Annie's name every once in a while. I spotted Mikasa, who looked terrified. " Where's Eren?!" She walked up to me, almost yelling. My eyes were blank, " I don't know, but have you seen Annie?" Mikasa growled at not getting her desired answer.
