Time; 104th Training Corps
You stood next to Annie, the girl Keith paired you up with for special training. Instead of the usual one on one's, it was a two on two. Your opponents were Eren and Reiner, the duo going over something at the other side of the battlefield. Everyone had started but you and your opponents. Annie let out a displeased sigh and stood on her toes to get closer to you,
" Don't mess me up out there, think about this as combat training in Marley- "
You laid a hand on her head and lowered the blonde back down. She scrambled to push it off. A flimsy punch flew by your head, Eren letting out a grunt. His emerald eyes widened with realization as both of your arms locked around his neck. The boy's head met with your knee harshly.
Annie was already fighting Reiner, glaring at you frequently. Reiner growled in frustration, the warrior moving out of the way to evade your attacks. Both Annie and your fists' barely missed each other. She fell backward; you falling on top of her.
The girl squirmed underneath the body of the warrior, cursing under her breath as the others crowded around. Mikasa pushed her way through as you stood up once again. The raven-haired girl pointed to Eren, who was lying on the ground.
" Who did that to him? "
The tension running through the area grew with every word. Mikasa's eyes flicked back and forth from you and Annie. The blonde looked at you with a hint of annoyance,
" That idiot, (F/N). "
Your mouth gaped open.
" You'll be fine, "
With that, Annie walked off. All you could do was hope for the best with Mikasa.
Timeskip; The next day,
Everyone conversed to each other behind you and Shadis, quickly shutting up as he threw a stern warning at them. Today's training comprised mostly of horse riding and ODM, some combat thrown in. In this area, it was raining horribly. The liquid drenched the cape thrown onto your upper-half.
You grinned, getting an idea. The trainees all looked pretty disappointed except Annie. She disliked the thought of being behind everyone, especially you. The girl passed half of the corps and came up behind you. Shadis and the others watched as you stood up on the saddle of the horse.
" Who said you could do tricks, moron?! "
The commander yelled. He was getting ignored, but Shadis still threw threats at you. Shadis gave up, the others curving around, not wanting to get hit. Except Annie. The girl watched your feet, her eyes narrowing and then growing suddenly.
You lost your footing, slipping off your horse. The animal kept trudging on as you fell off. Both you and Annie toppled to the ground together. The others didn't stop for either of you, only shooting glares at one another and then to you.
There was an unusual feeling. You couldn't quite make out what it was, but the only thing that you could was how soft it was. Your eyes opened and immediately met Annie's. Her face was too close, and her arms had snaked up to your neck. The girl's cheeks were a bright red. It made you realize what was happening.
She let out a small whimper as you broke the kiss by pulling away. You stood, pulling the hood of the cape over your face, attempting to cover the blush spread onto it.
" Sorry, I didn't mean to do that. Are you alright? You can wipe it off- "
Annie stepped in front of you and pushed you back. The mud made you slip and fall onto your rear . The crystal eyes of Annie's met your again, and she leaned in for more. Both of your eyes closed. You couldn't help but return the kiss.
A familiar pattern of sloshy footsteps and neighs didn't stop Annie. She kept her small arms around your neck, refusing to let go. An annoyed Reiner sighed at the sight of you two.
" What the hell, you two? "
Annie separated herself from you. She helped you up and squinted at Reiner.
" Go on. "
The man didn't move. You sighed and waved at him.
" We're walking. Sorry, Reiner. "
Annie clutched both of your shoulders, lifting herself onto your strong back. The armored titan's inheritor sighed and clambered back onto the horse.
Timeskip; Next day,
You were walking down the halls of the barracks when someone gripped your wrist. They pulled you into an empty room, pushed you into the bare wall, and kept their head down. The person breathed heavily. They placed both hands at either side of head, your mind going blank for a minute.
It didn't last too long, but the person pushed you down a bit and locked lips. The kiss caught you off guard. By a bit of light that shone in and revealed the girl's hair and style, you knew it was Annie. She didn't give you a chance to kiss her back before she slowly pulled away.
" I'm sick of this already. "
Annie whispered softly, placing her forehead against yours and taking your hands.
" All I want to do is get this over and done with. "
Soaking through your button-up were Annie's tears. As you brought your hand up to hold her soft face, the door swung open. Jean stood in the way.
" Annie showing some emotion! Wow- I have to tell the others- COME ON YOU GUYS, LOOK AT ANNIE AND (F/N)! "
With a small grunt, you stood up and leaned close to Annie's ear,
" Don't worry, I do too. After this is over we'll all have a normal life again, alright? "
The girl nodded, and got behind you. Jean had already gotten distracted and left the room. Both of you were going to get this mission done, and fast.
