"[Male Name]. I can't believe you disappeared like that!"
"I told you guys I'm sorry! Work suddenly called and I had to deal with it."
The day was not starting great for anyone.
Right after the Tooku Pokemon League Tournament came to an end, a certain [blonde, brunet, etc.] suddenly vanished into thin air without informing his two companions who left almost every rock unturned looking for him.
They couldn't get a hold of him even after trying bombarding [Male Name]'s Pokégear with calls all day and all night long. Until a couple of days later.
"But why didn't you send us a mail or something?
Do you have any idea how worried and depressing it was to not have any idea where you were for the past few days?"
"I-I'm sorry, Ryuu-chan! I know I should've, but I couldn't.
I really got preoccupied with work and I—"
"And nothing! We don't even know what your work is,
so how can we say that you're telling the truth."
Fair point.
[Male Name] never did reveal his occupation. Not that he had the need to.
"I-I..."
And the device was snatched from the other party's hand.
"[Male Name]."
It was Yuu.
"We'll forgive you. IF. You go out on a date with us."
"D-Date? What do you mean date? If I don't have to work,
I'm more than happy to hang out with the two of you."
"A-Argh! No—I mean, yes, you have to spend some time with us as your punishment,
but we want it more like a—"
"All right, all right! I'll try to free myself as soon as I can,
but I'm not promising anything.
You're lucky you guys are adorable."
"W-What did you say?"
"I DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING!"
Smooth...
"Anyway... what's with this invite you guys told me in your mail?"
And Yuu switched to a livelier tone.
"Ah, yes. Right after the tournament, a random guy in a butler outfit came to us.
He said he's from this Battle Frontier thing and offered us an invitation to go to the area."
"We don't know if we'd go or not, but—"
"Go," interjected [Male Name].
"That's a wonderful chance if you want to improve your skills."
"The Battle Frontier is a special place for trainers. It's a bit complicated,
but you'd get the hang of it once you reach the place."
