This year has been going so fast,
And I don't know if I will last.
All I can do is gasp,
At all the news shown like a blast.
A lot has happened the past few days,
And it has affected me in a lot of ways.
I am already exhausted from everything –
It feels like the only choice is leaving.
But I know the answer is not escaping,
That's why I am here, writing.

I'm having a hard time catching up,
And it feels like I am trapped.
I am already missing out on a lot,
Is this really included in the plot?

It feels like I am dreaming.
Or maybe my eyes are just opening;
A gentle, gentle awakening.

And I am looking for ways to be okay.
Because I know I should,
For it's the only way to survive.

And I am slowly accepting all of it,
One by one,
Until I can finally see the sun.
