Night fell, and I was inside my room, vibing into some of my relaxation playlists with a comic book in my hand. It was one of my healing when—
"Hiah!", My little sister, Lily, shouted from outside. Out of all the sounds that I could possibly hear, why does it have to come from her?
"Hiah! Hey!!", She started knocking forcefully.
From the day she has started talking, she has never been not annoying.
"Can you stop playing your music so loudly?!", I just smirked. Everyday after school, I would always play loud rock music. It's my peace and she's just trying to ruin it.
"Hey! Are you even listening?!", She twisted the door knob but couldn't open it since I locked the door.
"If you won't open this—", she stopped her words when I opened the door and looked at her with a nonchalant look.
"Then you'll what?", She opened her mouth several times but words can't seem to get out of her tiny mouth.
"See? You have nothing against me.", She widened her eyes at me and sticked out her tongue. Gosh, the audacity! If Mom and Dad doesn't love her, I would've performed exorcism on her a long time ago.
"And don't you have any respect for someone who's older than you? You're ten and I'm seventeen."
"Yeah, you're seventeen but you act like you're nine, and I'm like a year older than you.", She crossed her arms and looked at me intensely. She's right I could be a bit childish sometimes, but she's more.
What should I threaten her now that I'm out of words.
But suddenly a smile curved on my lips when I saw her ears."I'll tell Mom that you took her earrings again!", She quickly hid it with her arms. Too late, I already saw it!
"Why don't you just go and play with your dollies and I'm gonna mind my own business too, okay?", I raised the corner of my upper lip before closing the door infront of her face.
"Mommy!", She whined outside earning a chuckle from me.
But then after some minutes."Hiah.", I heard my Mom outside. Wait, but she's the one at fault here."Yes, Mom?", When I opened the door Mom was there and my sister was behind her, devilishly smiling.
"Let's go eat dinner?", I mentally celebrated when Mom dropped those gentle words. Mom walked away first leaving us both.
"But Mom!", She looked at me in disbelief. I sticked out my tongue at her and ran downstairs.
Everyday it would be like this with my little sister. We'd argue about the things that we habitualy do since our tastes are very opposite.
She likes girly stuffs like pretty dolls, tea parties, and... handsome boys? Everytime a pretty boy's in sight, she'd literally go crazy, and me... I only have a crush on one person, and that is... Joshua.
And that was literally cringe for me to say and I literally had goosebumps.
"Hiah~", I heard Lily call me but I was busy thinking stuffs.
"What?", I soullessly replied.
"Your boyfriend's calling~", I widened my eyes halfway through chewing my food. I looked at my parents across us and to my sister beside me who had a cheeky smile plastered on her face while holding my phone.
"N—No.", I shook my head looking at my parents."I don't have a boyfriend!", I looked back at Lily again and to my phone on her hand. How did she even get my phone from me?
I narrowed my eyes looking at the screen on my phone, and my lips immediately parted when I saw Joshua's name on it.
H—How did she know?!
"You should really clean your ears sometimes.", I glared at her and grabbed my phone.
"I'll be taking this call for a moment.", I pointed my phone looking at my parents. When they agreed I immediately ran to my room.
I swiped the green button and placed my phone on my ear.
"H—Hello?"
Act calm! Act calm!
"Hi, Hiah!", My heart pounded for no reason, or was it because of his voice?
"Hey Josh! Why did you call?", Did I sound too flirty? I slapped my forehead and gritted my teeth.
It's all because of my brat sister. If she didn't bring up that boyfriend thing, I wouldn't have been this nervous.
"I just— uh —I wanna ask if you've already finished doing your homework.", He called for this? Now this is a first.
"Yeah..."
"Oh, okay.", He chuckled. This is really weird.
"So?..."
"Just... Just in case you'll copy DK's homework again."
What!?
I clearly remembered not telling anyone except for Dokyeom that I forgot to make my homework that day.
"How did you know?!"
"Uh—"
"Did DK told you?!"
"Y—Yeah."
But Dokyeom promised not to tell anyone. And the worst part is he told Joshua which I tried so hard just to not let him know!
"Arghh!"
"I'll hung up now. Make sure to not forget your homework tomorrow."
"Yeah Yeah."
I heard him chuckle before ending the call.
A smile crept on my face as I placed my phone on my chest, clasping it.
I legit had a night call with Joshua, and I didn't knew that it was the only thing that I needed for this night.
"Creep.", When I diverted my attention to the door, my sister was already there.
I walked to her and pulled her inside, shutting the door close.
"Why the heck did you say that Joshua's my boyfriend!? And infront of Mom and Dad!?"
"Why? Don't you like him?", She crossed her arms and arrogantly smiled.
"I don't!"
"You do like him~", I widened my eyes at her.
"You should take a look of yourself on the mirror, you're redder than a rotten tomato.", I cupped my cheeks, and it was literally hot.
"If you're asking why I know...", I bit my lower lip. "You're so obvious girl. Don't you know how to act normal? Like whenever he goes here, you look like a chicken who's being chased."
I was dumbfounded. She's ten, but how can she know everything like this?
"And I saw a picture of him in your gallery.", My soul left my body. " Cause the other day, when you were typing your password, I saw it!", She laughed and her face tells me the biggest words 'In Your Face!'
And before I could even grab her and choke her until she gets an amnesia and forgets everything, she has already ran to the door.
"Au revoir knucklehead~", she sticked out her tongue before going completely out and banging the door close behind her.
I plopped on my bed and ruffled my hair, regretting most of my life's decisions.
