One year passed and yes, Cadance was still a cub. I was now a full adult. And Kabira was a young adult. Sadly, my mom passed a few weeks ago. So I was now the full-on queen. I was laying on the ground with Cadance and we were talking about how life goes by faster than a blink of an eye. "Mom, when I'm queen-" Cadance started then I said, "Really, Cadance? You've been talking about that since you learned to talk." Cadance sighed and said, "I just don't feel like I can do it. Or give up the Lion Guard." "Cadance, when I figured out that I'd have to give up the Lion Guard to become queen, I didn't think I was gonna be able to do it. But now look at me. You'll never hear me say the Lion Guard catchphrase ever again." I chuckled. "And yes, when I look at my friends, Asha, Naju, Kesi, and your aunt, Kabira, I still see the Lion Guard roles in them. I still see Asha as the bravest animal in the world, I see Kesi as the fastest, Naju as the strongest, and Kabira as the keenest of sight- which she is. I guess I still have some of that Lion Guard role in me. And I'm proud of that." I smiled at her. "Wow. I guess some things never change." Cadance said sounding a little surprised. I smiled at her and sighed in a relieved way looking up at the sky.
