Not far from Mystic Falls, Virginia, in a place called Steven's Quarry, Niklaus Mikaelson stood tall with a smug, sadistic grin on his features.
The three dead bodies lay respectively within their circle wall of fire in which they were imprisoned, blood still draining from their wounds inflicted by yours truly. One body was the one of a woman named Jules, a werewolf, who had just been at the worst place at the worst time. Well, worst for her; but best for Klaus. The second was Jenna Sommers; aunt and legal guardian of Petrova doppelganger Elena Gilbert. She, too, had been at the wrong place at the wrong time, for Klaus had easily turned her into a vampire to be sacrificed in his ritual. The last but not least was in fact, said Petrova doppelganger, Elena Gilbert. Everyone had worked so hard to save her, making Klaus' plan all the more difficult to complete. But there she lay, long brown hair drenched and sticky from the drying blood leaking from her neck.
Klaus had won.
And then, for the first time in a thousand years- and that's not even an exaggeration- Klaus felt the searing but not unwelcome pain of his eyes, nose, teeth, his entire face and body becoming the one of a blood thirsty canine.
This was who he was. He was finally free.
Not only that, but he could now build his own personal army of people just like him, winning every war before they even began, becoming a leader of his own personal race of beings, and most importantly, creating a family that loved, cherished, and respected him the way his true family never had. Klaus Mikaelson, father, brother and leader of all vampire-werewolf hybrids, was never going to be alone again.
Next thing you know, he awoke in the woods. He heard a familiar voice with a heavy british accent similar to his own speak the words, "You've been busy," and was then hit over the head by a pair of black jeans, some underwear, a tight-fitting black t-shirt that would fit him in am the right places, and a jacket. But all he could do was smile and say, without making eye contact with who he very well knew was his older brother Elijah, "That was amazing. How long has it been?"
"Almost two days. The full moon came and went and you remained a wolf..." Spoke Elijah's voice again.
"So I can turn at will then," Klaus finally shot a glance in Elijah's direction. "That's good to know." He was slowly beginning to find out about all his new powers as a hybrid, and he was liking them. "I remember every single kill..." He continued only to be cut off by his brother, who honestly didn't care to hear about Niklaus' murder conquests at the moment. "Yes. I've been cleaning up your little messes."
Nik grinned. "Ah, just like old times."
"Speaking of old times..." Elijah pressed.
"Ah, yes. I promised you you'd be reunited with our siblings, didn't I? Even though you tried to kill me..." Klaus began pulling on the clothes Elijah had thrown at him as Elijah watched him. "And I could have. But I didn't."
"No, you didn't. And now, no one can." Klaus allowed himself to realise. "I am the most powerful living being on this planet, brother." This was perfect. He had all the power anyone could ever wish for, after all this time. What more could he want?
"Please, Niklaus." The elder sibling attempted to humble his younger. "You know what I want. Can we just get on with it?"
Nik placed the expensive looking jacket over his shoulders dramatically as he told Elijah this before walking away. "Don't worry, dearest Elijah, you will be reunited with your beloved siblings soon enough."
A while after leaving his brother behind in the woods, Klaus made his way through the woods towards a pack of werewolves with his old friend Stefan Salvatore. Since the man had come to him begging on his knees for some of Klaus' blood to cure his brother Damon from a wolf bite, Klaus had made of him somewhat of a servant. Not that Nik knew that that's what he was doing, for he called it friendship. But Niklaus Mikealson was not one who properly understood love and friendship, for he had never properly received it. He didn't realize how wrong his manipulative actions and threats were, because that was how he was treated most of his life by his "friends" and "loved-ones."
