"You're sorry? That's all you have to say to me? You..." Jeremy was getting worked up, tears of anger staring to spill from his eyes as he remembered how he lost his Aunt Jenna and almost lost his sister in the same goddamn day. "You... you ruined my life, Klaus Mikaelson." He had no more parents, no more guardians, no one to look up to or to rely on when he needed help. And he was only seventeen. It really wasn't fair.
Seeing the poor boy hurt Klaus. He had forgotten what guilt and regret felt like. But he was feeling it now. It hurt deep down in his gut. What else could he say?
The two stared at each other, Jeremy breathing hard to try to regain his composure. "And now you're after Tyler? What... what did I ever do to you, huh? Whatever it was, I'm sorry, so please stop killing everyone I care about."
Klaus found himself surprised. "This fool?" He kicked the unconscious body on the floor.
The sound that resulted from Jeremy was not one he thought he could make. It was low and animalistic, and a whole other level of attractive. "Get away from him, you freak."
Niklaus, now tired of being pushed around, put himself back together despite his strange feelings. "I will kindly remind you, little one, to not address me with such profanities."
"Or else what?" Jeremy challenged, and that turned something on in Klaus. Quicker than Tyler had ever done it, Jeremy was pressed against the wall with Klaus' arm pressing against his chest leaving him unable to move, a position much too pleasing for his masochism. Which was perfect; because the vampire-werewolf was nothing if not a sadist.
"Do you want to find out?" Klaus muttered in a threatening tone. Jeremy felt the breath on his face and to his dismay it brought a burning blush to his cheeks. "G-Get off me." He forced himself to say after he caught and cursed himself for staring at the psychopath's lips. He had to admit they were insanely gorgeous and tempting.
Klaus did precisely not that. He smirked, extremely content he'd gotten the boy to blush like that. He ran his hand through the brunette's soft hair, making him squirm. "S-Stop it. What the hell."
Jeremy froze when the other man's thumb touched and pulled down on his bottom lip. "You're much too pretty for this Lockwood lowlife, you know that right?" Klaus told him, studying his features intently. The more he stared the more he began to think the boy looked familiar. He resembled his sister, the doppelganger.
"What do you care? You don't know me."
"I'm starting to think that I would like to." The Original admitted.
"Well forget about it," Jeremy spat despite their close proximity. "I don't want anything to do with you."
Klaus' hand fell from the teenager's face to his neck. Wrapping his fingers around it gently, he leaned into Jeremy's ear and spoke, "Wrong answer."
Jeremy shivered, but kept his mouth shut. "I'll ask again, and I suggest you answer me this time if you care at all for your boy toy Tyler's life- what's your name?"
The boy looked down at the floor before answering, painfully reminded that there was a hand that wasn't the one of the boy who cared for him around his throat. He thought maybe if he complied this would be over sooner. "It's... Jeremy. Jeremy Gilbert."
Nik loosened his fingers. "Jeremy. Lovely. It's nice to meet you, Jeremy."
The younger didn't reply. Now that Klaus wasn't a frozen, staring mess, he was much more frightening. And he didn't want to see Tyler hurt any more.
Speak (or think) of the devil, just then, Tyler started to stir around on the floor. "Christ." He pushed himself up, first onto his knees then onto his feet. As he did this, he said, "Klaus I swear to god if you hurt Jer-"
"Tyler!" Jer exclaimed loudly, before covering his mouth when Klaus shot him an angry glare. He sighed in relief when Klaus stepped away from him. The hybrid cocked his head as he looked at Tyler, suddenly remembering why he was here in the first place.
Hybrids.
"Right." He said out loud. "I suppose I will state my buisness now." Tyler shot him a look that read, "No duh." That would've been useful information about ten minutes ago. "Recently I broke a curse. One allowing me to be both a vampire, and a werewolf. And you see, I've encountered an issue. When trying to make more hybrids, the wolves all... died. I did everything I was told- there's something else to it; I'm sure of it. And we're going to find out what it is, with the help of your little witch friend Bonnie. And if there isn't... well, Tyler. You'd just be collateral damage. Happens all the time. There's no shame in that."
"What? No! No way!" Jeremy exclaimed much too loudly once again.
Tyler narrowed his eyes. "Get out of my house, Klaus. I don't want to be a part of your experiments. I'm fine how I am."
"Really? You wouldn't like to able to turn at will? Which means never having to turn if you wouldn't like. You wouldn't like to be more powerful than every vampire you know, young or old? You wouldn't like to be a part the most powerful species of being? Really, Lockwood?"
Hesitation became clear on the wolf's face. This scared Jeremy. "Tyler, no! You could die!"
"Bonnie's smart, Jer..."
"Shut up, Tyler! I'm not going to risk losing you. I already lost my mom, and my dad, and my Aunt Jenna, and my Uncle John... and for fuck's sake I almost lost Elena, too. I am not losing you."
Tyler frowned. He hated that his Jer had lost so much and was in so much pain. He couldn't add to that...
Niklaus, however was interested in something Jeremy had let slip. "What do you mean, you "almost" lost your sister? I killed Elena Gilbert."
Jer's eyes widened at his mistake. "I mean. I lost Elena, too."
Klaus turned to him. "Don't lie to me, Jeremy."
There was something in the way the age-old vampire-werewolf said his name that made Jeremy feel weak, in more ways than one. He backed up as Klaus approached, leaving him pressed back up against the same wall as earlier. Tyler watched, fists clenched, ready to tear the hybrid's head off if the moment arised.
"She- she's still alive," Jeremy muttered helplessly, going against the words of his friends and family who'd told him to keep his mouth shut no matter what. It was something in the hybrid's powerful gaze that left him feeling like he had no choice.
"Interesting." Klaus backed away from the wall again, pensive. "Very interesting indeed." Slowly, a grin formed on his face as he analyzed the situation. If Elena Gilbert was still alive... maybe she was the key. "I have a theory." And it wasn't the only one forming in his gut. There was something about the doppelganger's sibling that had him off put, and he had his suspicions why, but he wasn't sure he liked them very much. He wasn't ready for them. He didn't know what to do or think about them. Klaus wasn't used to that. He'd been alive much too long to not know about something. "Get ready Tyler. And as for you, Jeremy... I assure you this isn't the last you'll be seeing of me."
And with that, the all powerful Original was gone.
