A/N~ The college my older sister went to had Halls instead of dorm buildings, so that's what imma call them. Just so y'all understand and aren't too lost...hopefully.
~(Y/N) POV~
Time to find my dorm.
This was going to be a challenge. I couldn't read the signs, but at least the numbers looked the same. The blue tag dangling off my chain said: "Perry Hall, Room 12" in big, yellow letters. Matching the words up with others on my map, I realized it wasn't much of a walk, just up two flights of stairs. 'That's going to be nice at the end of a long school day.' I thought sarcastically.
Leading the small group, I wound my way through clusters of people walking down the stairwells or through the hallway. Some gave me weird looks, but most seemed friendly enough and gave me smiles.
I was busy trying to understand the map and didn't even realize when I walked right past my assigned dorm. James grabbed the back of my shirt in his fist, pulling me backward.
"I think you missed something important." He sighed.
I stumbled over my feet but was able to regain my composer only seconds after. I gave him an embarrassed smile.
"Thank you." I slid my key into the lock, pulled the handle, walked inside, and prayed that my roommate wasn't asleep, if I even had one. All the lights were off and I sighed, walking into the darkness. Running my hand along the wall, I found a light switch and flicked it on. The room lit up and showed that I did have a roommate, and they knew how to decorate a dorm. Yes! I slid my coat off of my shoulders and hung it on the rack that was on the wall.
I walked down the short, narrow hallway, and on my right I found a crowded kitchen that was relatively clean, regrading the fact we were college students. I brushed it off and continued my exploration of the dorm. On the other side of the room was a living area with a couch large enough to make it feel cramped. That needs to change.
Straight through this space, there was another small hallway with identical white doors on each side. I peeked inside the one that was slightly ajar, and inside was a completely furnished room, littered with books and a pile of clothing in the corner. Definitely not my room. Turning around, I opened the door across from me and looking inside. It was the same size as the other, but nearly bare in comparison. From what I could make out form the moonlight flitering in through the window, there was a bed pushed up against the wall and a desk opposite it, pushed into the corner. 'Must be my room.'
Thomas, Sam, and Charles filed around me and into the room. Thomas and Sam dropped the suitcases they were carrying on the dresser on my right. Charles put my dufflebag on the floor next to it. I flicked on the lights to get a better look around me.
(This is as close as I could find, feel free to change up the colors and decor. Also, the ceiling isn't that fancy lol)
