When I got home, I couldn't help but feel betrayed as I walked through the house and saw Luke making out with the bimbo on our couch. I stood silent for a minute but when they didn't notice me, I continued to walk upstairs and forget about him. I slammed my door shut very loud and hoped that it scared both of them out of the liplock.
I threw my backpack on the floor and felt my body begin to crumble to the floor. I kneeled down before I could recount what just happened and touched my neck with an easy touch. With a I-might-break-this touch.
I slowly rolled both of my hands over my neck and reached my shoulders. I made myself relax for a moment and then got off the ground and made myself towards the dressers with a mirror.
I grabbed a pair of sweatpants and a old T and undressed. Stopping at the sight of me, I looked at the hickey on my neck and looked the rest of my body up and down.
Nobody thinks you're pretty.
I looked at my reflection once again and took a good look at myself. I did have a pimple on chin and I did have quite a nose. Kind of crooked unless I turned my head a certain angle. Looking at the rest of my body, I noted that my shoulders were too square for my frame, my fingers were too bony, and I wasn't skinny. I wasn't fat, but I wasn't skinny.
Skinny girls are always pretty.
Tapping my fingers against my dresser, I bit my lip for a moment and then put my clothes on. I quickly grabbed my sneakers and shoved them onto my feet. Looking for my music player, I grabbed a pair of headphones and made my way down the stairs.
I was disgusted to see that Luke and his bimbo were still hanging all over each other but I quickly made my way to the kitchen.
What was proper for a jog? Grabbing a water from the refrigerator, I looked for a snack on the way there. I was originally going to go for a tasty cake but grabbed a ripe banana instead. Mom would be proud of me since she always wanted a jogging buddy.
I quickly texted her and told her that I was now going to start working out. When she finally replied, I half-smiled but put the phone away. I took a bite from the banana and threw the peel away as I doused the rest of it down my throat. I was going to eat healthily like mother suggested and I would hopefully take up a sport.
Placing the earphones in place and turning my volume up, I began to slowly walk down the street. It was a bit chilly out but I could easily deal with this since I would begin to sweat at any minute.
The jog got my mind off the topic and that was the best thing for me at the moment.
***"Please," Summer whispered in my ear. I slowly opened my eyes and looked up at the sky. I looked towards Summer and saw that she seemed to be upset and was looking at the gravestone of Tanner and at me. "Thank god." She tugged at the ends of her dark sweater and pulled until they were covering her fingers and she could squeeze them closed. "You were out for an hour, I'm surprised your brother didn't come searching for you."
"An hour?"
"No," Summer finally said. "More like ten minutes but it felt like an hour. Are you okay?" she asked. She didn't seem much worried about me but enough to let any surrounding people know that she didn't do it and that she was worried for her ex-friend.
"I'm fine," I whispered softly. I don't even know why I fainted. That was my first time fainting ever, I naturally don't faint. Maybe I was under a lot of stress when I did it or maybe I just did it so she would stop blaming me but I don't want to know why I fainted. I could remember everything beforehand perfectly fine but the moment you ask me for the exact reason of the faintage is the moment I will stop talking to you.
