"Can I speak with you after class?" I nodded my head and smiled at our science teacher went back to his desk when the other students started filing in the room. I admit, after the incident which was a couple of months ago, I was worried to even step foot in his room again but he's proven himself that he's changed. He hasn't made any sort of move that made me uncomfortable so I was thankful. He had his head screwed on straight and understood that what he did was right. Sure, he didn't apologize but I have a hint that's what he wanted to talk about today. Plus I still did his extra credit for him after school.
When the class period ended, I packed up slowly and waited until the door closed to sit back down. Nobody was technically allowed to know about the extra credit because it wouldn't be fair that I was getting extra credit and nobody else was. So I just made it seem like I just packed up slowly and it works all of the time because I do it in every class and make sure I'm the last one leaving the room.
"So you know the test you took yesterday?" I wearily nodded my head and hoped that I would finally get some good news about it. "Well you failed the test." I found it impossible that I failed it but I didn't find a reason that he would lie to me. "So I'm going to have you retake the test and you'll need to study until then."
"I have other classes though," I said. He walked to his desk and started writing down on an orange pass. He gave it to me and I shook my head and walked out. An orange pass basically means you can skip that class if the teacher allows it. I was just hoping that I could because my next two teachers are really strict.
As I walked down the hall, I was stopped when the teacher came racing down the hall after me. I waited for him to catch up and listened carefully to him.
"Tell them it's an emergency or something. They'd never let you come down just for studying." I nodded my head and quickly walked to my next two periods. When I made an excuse, they looked wearily at me but let me go once I got what we were doing in class and for homework.
I had boatloads to do so I hoped that I would get a better grade than last time.
"I'm back," I said out of breath. He shook his head and pointed to a desk in particular. I sat in it hastily and ripped open my books and started studying. I was facing the teacher so I could see all of his moves. Even though I was supposed to be studying, I had to watch him. I was always put on edge even if he hasn't tried anything since that one day.
From what I could see, all he was doing was putting in everyone's grades. Once in a while he would look towards me with interest but he always caught me looking. He would immediately look back at the computer and then type some words and sentences in. I rolled my eyes and when I started studying, I heard him get up.
I jumped half a mile from my seat when he sat down next to me and I saw him smirk from the corner of my eye. I laughed a little at my foolishness and he slid the test towards me. I wasn't sure if it was open book so I kept studying until he took it away from me. He pushed the paper close to me and watched carefully as I skimmed the question and thought hard about the subject.
I knew it was a different test than what I had originally taken since I knew what the first question was and purposely looked it up. The teacher noticed because he chuckled under his breath too. As I focused on the paper, he got closer to me and I felt uneasy as he stared down at my paper. It had nothing to do with him since I was always nervous when a teacher looked over my shoulder.
As I wrote in an answer, he grabbed my hands and took the pencil from them. I watched as he erased the answer and wrote in the right answer. I immediately felt terrible because this was technically cheating, not extra credit.
