Gwen woke up early as usual. After she had a shower, she went to the kitchen to have her morning coffee. On her way to the kitchen she passed Caryn's room. The door was still closed. She sighed. She's not even going to bother waking her up for school - I mean why? It's not like she actually goes to school. "Maybe I should buy her something nice after work and surprise her- yeah maybe a new set of headphones or a cute dress or something" she smiled as she thought of the smile on her daughter's face when she sees her gift. She frowned. It's been a while since she's seen her daughter happy or smiling about anything. Which is weird because she's sixteen years old. She should be dating and having friends over by now- but boys and friends doesn't seem to be something that her daughter is interested in. "Weird child" she thought. Much like herself when she was that age- until she met Taylor, that is. She decided to leave the coffee, grabbed her bag and laptop and with one last look up the staircase she shrugged and left for work.
