An Unwanted Life

The banquet

Caryn woke up a few times during the night. Her scars ached, but Khalil took good care of her. She rested the whole of the next day and only got up when it was time to get ready for the banquet. She was busy admiring herself in front of the mirror, when Khalil entered. She looked at him with lustful eyes when she saw how handsome he looked. A grin spread on his face. "Like what you see my love? You look gorgeous" he said as he kissed her cheeks. She pulled his head down and kissed him. "Stop Angel. You know we have to go" he said laughing as he gently pushed her away from him. Her face fell and he took her in his arms. "I'll never get enough of you Angel, now is just not the time. Plus, you look so stunning and I don't want to mess up your looks, okay?" He gave her a quick peck and they left for the banquet.

Everything was going fine, and Caryn was on cloud nine. "Let's dance angel" Khalil whispered to her. He led her to the dancefloor, and they slow-danced. Caryn knew that she fell for him, hard. How and when, she didn't know, she just knew that she wanted to be with him regardless of how he treated her. "Khalil, I don't feel so good" she told him as she felt the nausea building up. "I think I'm gonna get some fresh air" she continued. "Okay my Angel. I'll be right here. There's some people I need to talk to".

Caryn took a deep breath of the cool night air the moment she got outside. She rubbed over her stomach. "You are going to be our new start, Little One. You are going to bring change in your daddy. He already became gentler. He's not perfect, but at least he's trying. Once you are here everything will change" Caryn said softly, while a soft smile graced her face. "Ouch!" she almost screamed when she felt a prick on her left bum cheek. Her whole body felt cold when she turned around to a masked man. "Why are-" she got interrupted when her legs gave in below her. "Got ya!" the man said as he caught the falling girl.
