An Unwanted Life

The visit

"Hey so are you ready to go?" Aaliyah asked Caryn where she nervously sat on the bed. "Yes, I guess I am. But don't I look fat. It feels as if everyone can see my belly" Caryn said. Aaliyah laughed. "No really you are being silly. You are six weeks pregnant and still as sexy as ever. Please, my tummy is bigger than yours. You will go with the sheikh to visit his brother. You will see your friend, and you will turn heads" Aaliyah told Caryn reassuringly.

Yesterday Khalil told Caryn that they will be visiting her previous owner-or his brother in Al-Qatif. She's actually excited about it, because she will be seeing other people and she will get to see Leila. She saddened when she thought about Leila. Her eyes looked so dead the last time they saw each other. It was as if a part of her soul was missing and she looked lifeless. But hopefully Leila's master took after his brother and changed his ways.

"Hellooooo. Earth to Caryn" Aaliyah snapped her fingers in front of Caryn's face which made Caryn laugh. "Okay. What's up?" Caryn asked. "I told Mohammed to put your gowns in the car. The blue one is for the ball. The pink one for the banquet and then there is some light dresses for if anything else pops up. Stick to the hair do's that I set out for each outfit, okay." Aaliyah rumbled on. "Oh, and before I forget. Our people are very set on tradition. Since you will be accompanying master as his partner during the entertainment you will have to wear a hijab. It's in the bag with your accessories and for Allah's sake please put it on with their matching dresses". Caryn rolled her eyes at Aaliyah ranting. "Fine mom. Will do so mom" Caryn said putting her hand to her head in a salute. They both burst out laughing at that. "Look after yourself and the baby, Car" Aaliyah said while hugging Caryn.
