Ray woke up and rubbed her eyes before stretching and going to the bathroom to start her morning routine. She looked in the mirror, noticing that her typically warm ivory complexion seemed paler. Ray walked out of her bathroom, ignoring it. She took off the oversized shirt she wore to bed and changed into her uniform, which consisted of a white button up shirt, a black skirt, black tights, and white mary janes. Ray put on a short sleeve button up shirt and noticed the leaves falling outside. She picked up a necktie, a long sleeve dress shirt, a black and white blazer, and a black cardigan. Ray ate her breakfast and walked out after putting her long black hair in a bun, tying it up with a dark pink ribbon. She walked outside and saw her best friend Lily running over to her with her younger sisters, Faith and Hope.
Hope and Faith both had brown hair and navy gray eyes, just like Lily did. However, unlike their big sister, they lacked the tan that Lily gained from being on the beach and visiting tropical islands a lot. Lily's hair was also a little bit lighter than theirs due to the sun lightening it up. Lily typically wore her uniform with short sleeves, knee high socks, and a white hoodie tied around her waist with three black stripes around the hood, bottom, and end of the sleeves. Today she put a white lily flower in her hair. Ray gave the sisters a wave before Lily pulled her into a tight hug. Lily looked her up and down and nodded before reaching into the black book bag she wore across her body and gave Ray a dark pink lily flower in her hair. Ray noticed that the twins had three small rose blossoms pinned to the right side of their cardigans. Hope had a gray rose on top with a navy rose on the right below it and a white rose on the left. Faith had a navy rose on top, a gray rose on the left, and a white rose on the right.
Hope wore a light blue cardigan over her uniform, and Faith wore a dark gray one. Their uniforms consisted of short sleeve button up shirts, black pleated skirts that passed the knee, white ankle high socks, light gray mary janes, and typically a black ribbon tied in a bow. Their school, which was Ridgeview K through 12 Private Academy for Gifted Students, was very open to students changing aspects of their uniforms and being creative. So, as a result, the twins were able to customize their skirts to have a blue stripe near the bottom and a white stripe above that, along with adding a black stripe to the top of their socks and a blue stripe right below that. Ray had two dark pink stripes near the bottom of her pleated black skirt and Lily had three white stripes above the bottom of her black pleated skirt. Ray and Lily both wore black fingerless gloves. Ray's gloves had two dark pink stripes around the wrist and Lily had three white stripes around the wrist. "Do you guys need me to tie your ribbons again?" Ray asked. The twins nodded.
Ray tied Hope's dark gray ribbon and Faith's light blue one in a neat bow that matched the other one perfectly. "How are you so good with my little sisters?" Lily asked as Ray tied ribbons over the twins hair ties that separated their hair into low pigtails. Ray tied a dark gray one on Faith's right pigtail and a light blue one on the left. She did the same for Hope but swapped. Ray gave them white ribbon headbands and finished tying them. "Well, I like being around them and it's fun to help them dress in such fun ways. Also, you suck at tying bows, so that's why they get my help," Ray said, standing back up to her normal height since she had bent down to help the twins. Lily chuckled. "Yeah, you're right. I suck at tying anything. It runs in the family. Have you seen my dad's neckties and my mom's bowties? They're awful," she said. The girls walked the elementary school building and dropped them off at their classroom, class 4-A.
The two were pretty smart for nine year olds, landing them a spot in the top class every year. The two friends walked to the high school building and stopped outside of class 10-A. They felt a chill and then remembered just how terrible the heating was at this time of year, so they put on the jacket like clothing items they had with them. Ray took out her black cardigan and buttoned up the top of her shirt before tying her black bowtie. Lily looked at Ray and the ravenette laughed before nodding and reaching for her best friend's bag, but then stopped halfway there and retreated her gloved hand back to herself. "Actually, I have an idea," Ray said as she removed her own bowtie. The two fifteen year olds looked at each other. "What are you planning now?" Lily asked, noticing the gleam in her best friend's dark pink eyes and getting nervous. "What if we did what we used to do back in elementary?" Ray asked. "Swapping our teacher's cigarettes with pixie sticks? I didn't know that Ms. Phoebe was a smoker like Ms. Sadie," Lily said, eyes wide. "No, no, the other thing," Ray said with a chuckle. "Like when we filled the pencil sharpener with frosted flakes?" Lily asked. "No, not that either," Ray said.
