Ray and Lily waited for their teacher, Dr. Elliot Ward, to enter class. Elliot entered the room, panting heavily. He was holding a mug of coffee and wearing his signature white lab coat over a black button up shirt, a white tie, and black suit pants. "Sorry I'm late! I had to make coffee and my coffee maker at home broke so I had to use the one in the teacher's lounge and then I forgot to grab my hazelnut creamer so I grabbed normal creamer that ended up being pumpkin spice because Elenore loves seasonal things and I had made dark roast so I ran home and grabbed my hazelnut creamer and light roast and then I ran back here and then I made coffee and then I had to grab papers from the printer so I left my coffee on a table and grabbed the worksheets and then I talked to some kids from 12-A who started a conversation with me and then I grabbed my coffee and ran here to drop the papers off and then I had to grab the stuff for today's lesson and then Issac told me that he needed help fixing his whiteboard so I helped him and then I had to get here," Elliot said, out of breath.
"Dr. Ward, do you need a short break? We can just do the worksheets until you're ready to teach. We're smart enough and they're just a review, right?" Ray asked. "Okay. Yes. they're review work. I like that idea Ray. Everyone, busy yourselves while I take a break," Elliot said, drinking coffee and lying down on his desk. The class was all finished in half an hour, but Lily and Ray were done in six minutes and had been having a thumb war, which was currently 19 to 8, with Ray in the lead. Lily huffed and Ray ruffled her hair with a smile. Lily giggled and class started. The biology lesson was about stem cells and their properties, plus how to get them to fix issues in the blood. The lesson for the next class would be about blood and a continuation of how stem cells work with it. Class was soon dismissed, which meant it was lunch/free period. Lily and Ray reunited with Hope and Faith since all the grades had free period together. They left Ridgeview and went to their respective houses to get their own lunches. The four regrouped and returned to the Academy. They sat down at a table in the courtyard before starting to eat. Lily was asking about school for the twins with her mouth full until she got a piece of her sandwich stuck in her throat. Ray handed her friend a glass of water which Lily chugged.
Lily put her sandwich away, no longer trusting it. The twins giggled and explained how their lessons had been so far. "That's great. Pretzels anyone?" Ray asked, offering out her bag of mini pretzels. Lily took two and the twins each took three. "How was school for you two?" Faith asked as Hope ate her pretzels. "It's been okay. Today-" Ray got cut off by Lily, an occurrence that Ray was used to. "Miss Phoebe got married! And Ray and I finished our math worksheets and notes really fast and Miss Ellie raised her voice to tell us to stop playing rock paper scissors while she was talking about the assignments and then we had to go get stuff from the printer. The shock on Miss Ellie's face was hilarious when she heard that we finished. And Dr. Elliot was really tired during class so Ray suggested that he take a break and we finished our worksheets and she beat me at thumb war and we learned about stem cells and how they help blood and other stuff. It's a lot of fun, especially since we have a lot of free time in class due to how fast we are at work," Lily said. The twins giggled and Hope spoke up.
"We did some writing and we got a lot more done because of Ray's lessons. There's a class play next week and I get to be the narrator while Faith's the magician. We memorized our lines already, but can you guys help us after school to make sure we know everything?" Hope asked. Lily nodded enthusiastically and Ray smiled while giving a small nod. "I'd be happy to help you guys review the lines that are stated before yours. Lily will help you with physical cues," Ray said. She was actually a pretty big theater nerd and a great actress, but Ray didn't show it. Lily also happened to be an actress, but she was better at singing and choreography. The bond they had already made them playing roles together that much more believable. Hope and Faith were like a combination of Ray and Lily, who were the biggest influences on them. They had the inhuman intellect and speed from both of them, the social know-how and childish and chaotic nature that is their biological older sister, and the dialect and ability to stay calm and knowledge of when to be quiet belonging to their chosen older sister. Plus they also got their acting abilities, with Faith being more of an attention grabber and Hope preferring to stay away and narrate.
