Chapter 2: An ordinary day

*Hawks Pov*

Looking at the time I knew that I only had around 20 minutes to prepare myself and start my shift at patrolling. This meant I had to cut some corners in my everyday routine. 

"You can do this Hawks you can make it on time," I thought to myself we all need a motivational speech to ourselves as I saw the Mighty Endeavor Poster on the wall. 

I speedily rusted to the Balcony opening the sliding door with a bit too much force from my eagerness that it made a sound as it hit the doorframe. It shocked me a bit and gave me that extra boost to power rush my way. 

I quickly got the towel hanging along the clothesline and came dashing into the bathroom. I got undressed as soon as possible and went into the shower. I screeched a bit as the water was ice cold. 

I got off the shower dried myself off with the towel as I looked at my reflection. Wasting no time whatsoever I brushed my teeth with my right hand as I was combing my hair with my left. When that was over I just did not bother with my eye line and dressed up swiftly. 

I had some difficulty when I was wearing my jacket from my wings but after that, I was all set. Grabbing my essentials with some feathers I sent out. I flew off the balcony and left the apartment complex I was staying at.

I felt the morning sun hit my skin as I flew higher and higher. The sky is clear of clouds and I can see clearly the other birds flying in pacts. Looking at the buildings and seeing the kids on their way to school looking and pointing at me with a smile on their face. That is the reason why I enjoyed my job as a hero. 

To ensure the safety of people and to prevent crime from happening. I got to my post a few minutes late but even so, I started to patrol around the area as I usually do every day.

"Good morning Hawks," A pedestrian said.

"Morning," I said back with a smile 

"Hey, its Hawks!" A bunch of school kids said before as they all came towards me.

"Can I take a picture with you?" One said

"How are you doing?" Another said

"Your wings are so pretty" I heard as I felt my wings being patted onto

I got overwhelmed as I couldn't understand what they were all saying and just smiled back at them. I tried to answer some of them with one word like "great" and "yeah". They seemed happy so that cool. 

"Class get back here!" As I heard their teaching going towards them. All the kids that were around me were forming two lines behind the teacher.

"I'm so sorry for causing such a ruckus to you. These kindergartens are too much to handle sometimes and they are quite the messy bunch," she said to me

"It's okay ma'am" I assured her for I loved seeing the faces of happy children.

"Say bye now to Sir. Hawks" She said to her students.

"Bye Hawks," A kid said waving her hand.

"Kick the Villains butt Hawks" As he punched up at me. 

"Take Care Hawks," Another said.

The kids said as I gave them high fives and patted some of their heads. they were headed towards the bus and I waved back at them smiling as the bus left. Well, what a way to start a day. I wonder what it feels like to be on a field trip.

But that doesn't matter right now. I dismissed the thought as I continued to walk along the sidewalk. Then suddenly somebody was calling I felt the vibration in my pocket.

*Dabi Pov*

I woke up because I felt like it and got out of my bed. I took a peek at the window separating it slightly with my finger seeing the sun has already risen. "So bright," I thought to myself. 

I went out of my room and went through the corridor to go to the Bar and I saw Misty Boy (Kurogiri) at the counter cleaning his glasses or whatever.

"Morning Dabi" Toga said ecstatically leaning against the wall as she tried to hug me with a knife in her hand.

"Morning," I said back to her as I slightly pushed her away to let her go from hugging me.

"Where are the others?" I asked her for it was only the three of us here.

"Hmmm. I think they are all outside doing something. Not sure what though" She said placing a finger on her mouth thinking. 

I sighed as I went to lay down on the couch and browse on my phone looking at the news. I felt a bit of angst and anger as I saw Endeavor on my screen. Just the thought of him being alive made my blood boil. With a menacing look on my face as I just stared blatantly at my phone. not anywhere in particular. 

My thoughts were cut short when this girl came to peek at my screen.

"What's tha-" She said as I hid my phone and out of shock smacked her face.

"Hey what's that for!" she said as she pouted and placed a hand of her cheek. "I'm sorry for doing that, just got something on my mind" I replied to her.

"Are you okay? You know if you need someone to talk to you can always count on me" She said as she had a thumbs up with a very big smile on her face. It felt good that I have that sort of reassurance coming from someone. It reminded me of someone back then.

"Shigaraki is coming back very soon," Misty boy said to us as Toga eyes flashed with excitement "Yay! I'm so excited to see him again," she said as she sprang off the floor. 

"Let us all head to the meeting room for we have a meeting today" I sat straight up first then stood up as I went to follow them to the meeting room. 

I wonder what scheme hands (Shigaraki) have in store. We all sat in our respective places and the rest of the gang went inside. The meeting is about to begin. Just another day passing by...
