We lose them
We are not good enough so we lose them
Doesn't really matter how much we love them
Doesn't even matter how much we need them
Because we are not who they want we lose themIn what we think are stars, they see faults
In what we call our glory, they see errors
And our flaws are not hidden from their eyesLiving up to someone's expectations
Fighting with the demons of their past
Competing with their experiences
Combating their personal dislikesNothing can ever prepare us for this
Nothing can ever make us who they truly want
Love? Well that's filmy
But Peace- looking in the eye of another and seeing Home?
That is more than enough.🥀🌹🥀
