The purpose of life is to be happy – no matter what is thrown at you, yet Elettra 'Ellie' Holmes felt that there was something missing. A part of her, perhaps. But still, the girl just wasn't sure what it was. She had everything you could of dreamt of; a happy home, a mother who loved her, older brothers who protected her although they were far away, and a younger sister who never failed to make her smile. However what the girl didn't have, was one significant other. Sure, her brothers, particularly Mycroft, would send men over every now and then to see if it would match for her but every time it went to complete and utter shambles.Speaking of her brothers, she hasn't seen them in 7 years and 3 months to be exact. She was 17, almost 18 now. Little did she know that she would see them again in a few days time.
Elettra lay on her bed with 3 large, fluffy blankets curled messily around her small figure. The birds had began singing an hour ago but Elettra hadn't bothered to get up, presuming that her sister wouldn't have awoken yet. However, the girl had been awoken by her younger sisters frantic shouts for her mother. With lots of effort, the girl managed to slowly pull herself out of the safety of her bed and wondered into the hall that was light by natural sunlight. Sun in England? Huh, Strange.
As the girl sleepily turned a corner she was completely knocked off of her feet by her sister, Enola.
Elettra grunted as her body collided with the wooden floor and her sisters footsteps came to a stop.
"Well, good morning too you too!" She sarcastically exclaimed, a bit frustrated that this is how her morning had began.
Enola quickly grabbed onto her older sisters hand and helped her up, sheepishly murmuring apologies as she did so.
"Happy birthday by the way." She smiled, ruffling her younger sisters hair, knowing full-well that it annoyed her.
Enola sent Elettra a quick smile and fixed her hair before curiosity and panic overtook her features once more, "Have you seen mother at all today?"
"Well, no, because I've just woken up and been plummeted by a 16-year-old." Elettra Recalled, sarcastically listing the events off with her fingers.
"This isn't the time for jokes!" Her younger sister scolded, sending the girl a harsh glare.
"Have you checked the kitchen?"
"Obviously!"
"Her study?"
"Yes!"
"Her bedroom?"
"Yes! I've checked everywhere!" Enola exclaimed as if she was pointing out the obvious.
This caused panic to overtake Elettra's features as she tried to search her brain for reasons she might not be home.
"Maybe she's gone to the market." She suggested, sounding as if she were convincing herself more than her sister.
Enola raised an eyebrow, "At half seven in the morning? It's barely been sunrise!"
Elettra shrugged in response and softly placed a hand on Enola's shoulder, "I'm sure she's fine."
Enola let out a breathe she hadn't realised she had been holding in as her older sister was quick to come up with an idea.
"I'll go and check the village nearby and see if I can find her. Whilst I do so, you can wait here in case she is to return. Okay?"
Her young sister nodded in response and wrapped her fragile arms around her sisters frame, her words muffled as she spoke into her shoulder.
"Please be careful." It was quiet but understandable.
